Jelly Rolls

Hey everyone! I didn't know where to post this, and since I'm an adult, I figured why not start over here!

DH, a friend, and myself are going to WDW in 10 days. cool1 and we are going to check out Jelly Rolls.. DH and I go at least once a year and we always say we're going to check it out and we never do.. It's a MUST this trip.

We are trying to figure out how to get there. We are staying offsite at the in law's house so we'll have a car, but I don't think we can just drive over to the Boardwalk Inn and park.

Any suggestions?

Also, can anyone share stories, fave drinks, etc about Jelly Rolls?

You can drive over to the Boardwalk and park. They'll most likely give you a 3 hour parking pass, but if you spend more time than that, you'll probably be fine. The Self-Park at the Boardwalk is across the street (if I remember right!) And you always have the option to valet it.

JellyRolls is a blast! If you want a song played you put it on a napkin with a tip.

When you get to the Boardwalk Resort, pull up to the security gate and tell them you are going to JRs. They will tell you whether you can park in the lot by security or will have to park across the street in the lot behind Hess.

Also, can anyone share stories, fave drinks, etc about Jelly Rolls?

I love Jellyrolls and have been there MANY times and always had a great time. I drink beer, but there is always a drink special above each bar for a 32 oz. red cup for $9.95. And each of the piano players is very talented - just put up your request on a napkin with a few $$ (the more $$, the faster the request is played) and enjoy your night!!

If it's on the weekend, plan on being there no later than 8:30 to get a seat (arrive earlier if possible.)

Jellyrolls is amazing! DH and I had a joint bachelor/bachelorette party there the night before our WDW wedding and everyone had such a great time. The piano players pulled us up on stage and made us do a dance, then they did the same thing to my maid of honor. Great fun! it is a must do for all disney adults.

The cover charge is always $10 and last time I was there, domestic beers (I drink Miller Lite) were $4.75. Don't know about imports...

Do they have any rules about the types of songs you can request? I hear it's fun to play stump the players. Anyone ever been successful asking for something they didn't know?

Only songs that are fit for a "Disney" audience are allowed ie. no swearing or vulgarity.

There have been a few times when I've been there with friends that the piano players have learned a song they didn't know between their sets, then come back out and played it.

Cover was still $10 three weeks ago.
Draft beer (very limited selection) was $4.50 I think.

I don't like swearing or vulgarity myself. but, by "disney" audience' do you mean children? the reason I ask is (no, I don't want to hear songs with swearing), are there many children there? after 9 or 10 pm?

I guess I assumed it was an adults venue. (at least after a certain hour). at Kimonos (swan) for karaokee, it was supposed to be adults only after 10pm.. one night it was fine. the next night we stopped off after illuminations, on the way back to our room at the Dolphin. there were about 10 middle school aged girls sitting crosslegged in front of the stage, waiting to sing. ( If we're in a night club, after 10pm, we really don't care to hear 10 little girls singing beyonce or miley cyrus) the DJ told us as soon as they were all done with their songs they had "in" already, they would have to leave, but we didn't want to have to wait an hour and a half for the kids who were supposed to be "out" at 10 pm to sing.
I guess I just think nightclubs are for adults after 10 pm.
I guess I[m hoping Jellyrolls is more adult-oriented (as night clubs should be)

Yes! DH and I stumped them with "Scotty Doesn't Know" from the movie Eurotrip

happy to hear that. there is plenty for kids to do (as well there should be). It is nie to have some things for adults only.

No. I've always been charged a cover at Jelly Rolls.

when we went there were no kids there. I think you have to show your id at the door. i could be wrong though
