Can somebody tell me about Jelly Rolls? I understand it's a piano bar at the boardwalk. Is it worth taking a trip to? Is it fun? What kinds of things do they do? Is there a cover charge?

Thanks

It's a dueling piano bar and a lot of fun!! It's all requests, and they will play pretty much anything (we've been there 3 times, and we only saw them say they couldn't play something once). They are really good and get the crowd into it. There is a cover charge, I think it was $7 or $8 a person. Definately give it a try!!

DBF and I went in August and it was really fun. We went on a Sunday night, I think, because I heard it gets really crowded but there were only like 6 other tables of people. We were there with the piano players by ourselves for a good 1/2 hour they chatted with us and they played whatever we wanted. Once it got more crowded, people put their requests on napkins and then bring them up. There were actually quite a few songs that they said they couldn't do. They were very interactive, though, and one of the piano players even bought DBF and I a round of drinks because we were they all night! They would switch every once in a while between two sets of players, which was nice because they all sounded different and could play different style songs. I wouldn't really say they're "dueling" pianos, they just kind of play together. There is a cover charge and it is the only place in WDW that you can smoke inside, if that has any effect on your decision to go. We will definitely go there again!

I loved Jellyrolls. It is a great place to relax and enjoy. FYI, it is one of the few places you can't room charge

We went to Jellyrolls a few weeks ago. The crowd is mostly 30's and 40's. There's tables set up and I believe two bars. The piano players were fun, but I have to note that although it's 21 to get in they play a lot of songs geared towards children (think the bunny hop) which I thought was odd. We enjoyed it but I don't think we'd go back. Cover was 8/person

When I was doing my college program in 2003, my friends and I would meet at Jellyrolls every Tuesday night (it was free for CMs at that time, not sure if it's still free or not). Many of the songs that are 'geared towards children' are for the regulars. I got to know many of the songs that they played week after week (I can't remember the name of the song but some of the lyrics were 'and the green grass grew all around, all around, and the green grass grew all around') and I still smile when I hear the songs. It may seem strange to some who don't frequent the bar very often, but for the regulars, it wouldn't be night at Jellyrolls without at least one of those songs.

I dont' even know if he's still playing at Jellyrolls or not, but I used to love when Scotty sat on the piano and sang "Rainbow Connections" pretending to be Kermit the Frog. When I hear that song, I think about Jellyrolls.

I would also suggest that people visiting WDW go to Jellyrolls at least once to give it a try. Sometimes on Tuesday nights I think about CM night there and wish I were there to share an evening with my friends. The memories... ;)

We've visited here a few times, great place to unload some extra energy. Yes, there is a cover charge as stated above. Only draw back in staying a bunch of hours, is at Disney's prices for beer could send you to the poor house, I believe its 5 bucks a bottle. Pretty hard sitting in there for a few hours sucking on one beer.

I just made my first visit last Friday. There was a DIS meet there.

Cover charge is $8. And it's not the "dueling" pianos style, more two pianos playing together, with one of them "leading". Yes, Scotty still plays. He was there for the first half, and he seemed to be "unstumpable". The 2nd pair of singers wasn't as good (in my opinion), and they definitely didn't know some of the requests.

It was a pretty fun time. The smoke was getting to me toward the end of my time. I was there from 8:45 to about 10. If you are allergic, I wouldn't go in, but otherwise, I'd say it was worth it if you went with people you know. It doesn't seem to be a place to hang out alone though.

This reminds me that I haven't seen anything from TLinden on the board for a while. Does anyone know where she is?

She was at the meet. I recognized her from her pics! I don't know when shes' coming back though.
