Jello Shots

I've heard of them but never understood what they are. So it is making jello but with alcohol being substituted for part of the water? Jello shots are served in shot glasses? How do you consume them- tip up the shot glass and the jello comes out- or spoon it out? The jello is set, right? So you must have to use the boiling water and then pour in alcohol and cold water to make it set? I looked at the jello shot site but couldn't find information this basic.

Sorry if the questions sound silly, I just can't quite figure it out.

basically you add the hot water to the jello first and let dissolve and then add the liquor.. and then set..

You mix the jello mix with the boiling water then instead of the cold water you add alcohol (substitute alcohol for water)
They are very yummy!

You just kind of "slurp" them out of the cup! My favorite is cherry!!
