We just returned from two nights at the Jefferson Hotel in Washington DC from the Concierge Collection. Any Questions?

What was the room like? also, how was the location? Was it in a good area? Could you walk to the Smithsonian?? Thanks in advance.

I can answer you questions. It is a great location. The room I stayed in was nice but the bathroom was very small. You had to close the door to get to the mirror. My childrens bathroom was much bigger. You are very close to everything. The metro is a great way to get around. Point are high for the rooms but so are the hotel rooms there.

We're interested too in more info about this hotel. Our family (DH, DD-12yrs, DS-10yrs) want to go to Washington DC and am considering using our DVC points to stay at the Jefferson.

I can see that it would be a good location, but would we be able to walk to see various sightseeing spots? I had heard that there is no pool at the hotel, True or False? Tell me about the restaurants at the hotel. Will the deluxe or luxery room be large enough for us or should we plan on booking a 1 bdr?

Any help would be appreciated.

Dream it and you're there!

We had the Two Room Suite. The bedroom had a Queen size bed a large cabinet for a closet and the bathroom was a decent size. Both rooms had cable TV.

The suite was 84 points for two nights but we had to pay $75 for the Concierge Collection, $25 per night for a portable bed for my son which was put in the large sitting room and $20 per night for Valet Parking. The sitting room had one large sofa and two large chairs and an honor bar/fridge, a desk with phone and fax and a circular table.

The hotel is about 5 blocks from the White House and two blocks from the subway which gets you to the Smithsonian, etc. If you enjoy walking and the weather is nice you can walk to the museums, it was too cold for us.

The restaurant was very good but expensive. It cost us $92 for my 6 year old, who had a hamburger, and my wife and I had very good steak dinners. One meal was enough. The hotel is on 16 St. amd M St. right across the street from the National Geographic Society.

I don't believe there is a pool.
