Is Jedi Training still picked at random or do kids line up to be chosen on first come, first serve?

It is still random. Wearing SW gear and having small signs helps. Kids should act excited and jump up and down.

DS (5) wore a cute fedora and was picked both times we tried. He was easy to spot and call out with his hat. :)

Make a sign. Both times we have made a sign for my son he was picked. Not a big one, 8 1/2 x 11 (standard paper size) will work.

I know I am probably in the minority here, but I really do not like the fact that some parents try to get their kids in this multiple times. If you get picked once, let some other small child's dream come true and keep your kid out for multiple times. There are more than a few kids who's hearts are crushed by not getting picked and there is a good chance they will never be there again...or will be back when they are too old to want to.

Our boys did not get picked twice and then were both picked on the third time. Knowing the dissapointment first hand, we told them that in the future, we would let some other little boy or girl have a better chance.

I have read on this forum of people going 5+ times. Not sure what that says about their values.

Like the others said, wear Star Wars gear, both time my nephew got picked first with a Rebel Alliance hat and the next with a Boba Fett hat.

Just agreeing here. Took the kids on Fri, Nov 9, all three in Star Wars shirts. The two elder ones got chosen while bouncing up and down with frantic arm waving (but there were definitely others who acted similarly and did not get chosen from the group of hopefuls that was about twice as big as the chosen group could be). I kept the little one (34 months old) back because he would not have understood enough of the instructions. He cried. The one child who made an 8.5"x11" sign saying "Pick Me!" right there while we waited for the show to start was chosen quickly. We were very grateful that both kids got chosen in their first try. The live experience is do much more fun than what you've seen on YouTube. Definitely worth the effort. A major Fave Moment at the parks.
