I have heard through other forums that kids ages 4-12 can now sign up for the jedi training and they give you a pass to come back at a specific showtime for your turn. I looked on Disneylands site and they still say that they randomly pick kids from the audience. Can anybody tell me which way is current?

We went to WDW a couple of years ago and my oldest son wanted to get picked, unfortunately they ended up picking my oldest daughter and he was quite devastated so I would love it if we could just sign him up this time and he would get a turn.

that would be great! My son gets so upset when he isn't picked for things and he REALLY wants to do this!
thanks for sharing and asking...this info will be very helpful :)

We were at Disneyland in Mid-December and my grandson wanted to do it. They do pick from the audience. I got some great tips from other people on the Disboards that worked like a charm. We made him a sign, he wore a brightly colored Star Wars shirt, we got there early so he was in front row and we told him to get real excited and jump up and down. He was one of the first picked!! We noticed that every kid with a sign was picked. One kid wore a Padawan costume and he was actually the first one the chose. Good Luck!!

I remember reading some info. about WDW now using the method that you mentioned, but DLR is still selecting kids from the audience. Read the tips from the Jedi Training thread mentioned above. (Using a sign really works!) Good luck.....and I hope your DS gets selected. :)

The other forums must be discussing WDW.....at DLR the kids are still picked by the Master Jedi (as of last week).

As mentioned in the link that DisGram provided, we've had a 100% success rate (over 3 years) in getting DisPadawan's selected....as long as they have a sign & if they jump up & down & wave it during the selection process. Not one person has come back & reported their kid NOT being chosen.

Good luck to your youngest padewan. :thumbsup2

My son loved it. Got there early and he was excited. Also like said dressing does help. My boy and another boy had Duck gear on and they both where picked. Also a "Star" Wars clad kid was picked.

I would agree that if you encourage your child to be enthusiastic and to be in the front he will have a better chance. All of you could even talk with the Jedi Masters beforehand so they could get to know you. Also, there are numerous shows so if you miss one and show up for the next, they'll probably recognize your child and maybe choose him just based on that. Good luck!

Thanks. I will do the sign this time. When we were at WDW my kids were in the front and did jump up and down for a few shows but in the end they picked his cute blond sister over him. This time I wont even let his sister get up there. LOL
