Hi - I am sure that I have read that JTA is sometimes canceled in the rain. Maybe it is moved inside for just a meet and greet with Darth Vader?
I'm wondering, what if it is raining first thing in the morning? Will they even hold sign ups at that time? What do they do? Just sign kids up for each session, and then hold the sessions or cancel / move if it is raining at that time?

1. Will they even hold sign ups at that time?
2. What do they do?
3. Just sign kids up for each session, and then hold the sessions or cancel / move if it is raining at that time?

1. & 2. Depends on the forecast.
3. Yup. Exactly what happens if it is NOT raining during sign-up time, but if rain hits at show-time(s.)

JTA still holds sign-ups even when it's raining at the time of sign-ups and rain/lightning is forecast for the day. The JTA cast is backstage and the complete cast then attends each meet and greet that is held for each canceled session.

If they didn't hold the sign-ups, there wouldn't be a reason to send out the cast as they don't run it as a regular meet and greet - meeting the JTA cast is reserved for only those who are signed up for a session.

Agree with PPs and suggest definitely signing up even if it looks shaky. Our DHS day was rainy off and on, and despite the common suggestion to sign up for early shows because afternoon ones often rain out, we needed a 4pm time due to our ADRs. The first 2 shows occurred, several late morning thru afternoon were canceled, and we were able to squeeze in our show as they dried off the stage and the rain held off until after 5 again. I think the Darth Vader and cast meet would have been a decent substitute and worth our time if our show had been cancelled as well.

Just wanted to say that depending on the type of storm, there may not even be a meet and greet. On our last trip, because there was lightning, the CMs at the sign up area had to wait for a radio OK from elsewhere in order to allow the kids to go over to the Star Tours area for the meet and greet. Lightning was too frequent so they just had the kids battle each other in the sign up area and then leave, no meet & greet or show. The lightning let up for my son's "class" and they were able to go over to Star Tours at the last second for the meet and greet, which was a huge relief, but be prepared that if there is lightning, there may not be a M&G depending on where Darth Vader & the Storm Troopers are (they aren't allowed to "travel" in lightning either so if it's a sudden storm or sudden lightning it may not happen). Crossing fingers you have a sunny day, just wanted to prepare you for the possibility so you don't have a very bummed out and surprised Jedi!
