The age range is 4 - 12. They will ask him his age and he won't be able to sign up when he honestly answers the question.

Some older kids even have a difficult time with the training. Some get frightened and have to be restrained from jumping off the stage. That's why there is a minimum age so that all who are taking part can enjoy the show.

We did this 2 year ago with our then 6 year old DS - we made sure on our first day at the Studios we were there for Rope Drop - we were then directed to check in and then another slight queue but well worth it - we got ticket for the 11.30 Jedi Training - our son loved it.

Just to note we saw loads of older kids trying to take part in the later in the day and they were standing sobbing their hearts out because they arrived too late and all the shows were full.

Arrive as early as you can before rope drop and just keep trying every day you visit Studios - good luck.

It is definitely worth an early start to the day

We are planning on doing this again in April on our next trip cannot wait.

Sign-ups are located in the Sounds Dangerous building which is located between the American Idol screen and the Jedi stage.

But how do you get there. Down to the hat and turn? Or do you turn sooner?

Turn left just beyond Echo Lake. Or go in general direction of Star Tours, it will be on your right.

When we were there two weeks ago my son did it on both of our HS days. We were first or second in line at our turnstile each day. When the gates opened I went straight to sign ups with him. The first day (Saturday) it took us about 15 minutes or so to get through the line. The second day (Monday) was about 10 minutes. Each time they asked me which time I liked from the list of available times starting with the earliest show of the day. I always thought you got whatever time was assigned, but we got to pick our time each day.

We just did Jedi training this week and it was great! My 7 yo DS loved it.

Just to reiterate what everyone said...get there early! The family in line ahead of us were trying for a second time. The first time they tried they got there at 9:10 and it was already too late. I think we got to the park about 20 minutes before park opening on an easywdw "recommended" day. I took my DS to sign up while DH went to grab FP- for TSM.

The minimum age is 4 yo. I really don't recommend trying to fudge the age, even if your kid is really close to 4. In fact, I wouldn't recommend it for a young 4 yo unless they are really brave and good at following directions. The youngest kids on the stage all had a hard time and we saw some that were too scared to complete the training once Darth Vader/Maul comes out. Considering only around 15 kids get to do each show, it's a real shame to see a slot taken by a kid who isn't really mature enough.

The CMs were asking the kids (not parents) their ages and for the very young ones, asking them if they could follow directions.

The line took a bit of time, but you won't have any trouble getting out to go to the bathroom. I think it would be best if you had two adults just so one of you could stay in the line while the other goes to the bathroom with the child.

Oh, and don't walk right pass the sign-ups, like I did. I was so focused on the stage that I didn't notice the building with the sign-ups. It's on your right-hand side--look for it as soon as you can see the stage where the show happens. There will be CMs with signs and of course, a small crowd of people. In that part of the park, I don't think that there is anything else that generates a crowd that early in the morning.
