Both our sons are HUGE Star Wars fans and they will be ecstatic to discover the Jedi Training Academy when we visit next month. They would be so thrilled to be picked!

But here's the issue-one of our sons has cerebral palsy and will be in a wheelchair or his walker at DL. His only issue is his physical disability. It would be sad for him if his twin got picked and not him. In order to participate, do kids need to go up onto a stage? Has anyone ever seen a child with a disability/difference picked?

OK, this is probably a pipe dream, but it would be a dream come true for our whole family.

Any thoughts?

I hope it is running while you are there, we will be there next month also, and it is not on the calendar while we are there.:confused3

I personally haven't seen a child with a disability picked, but if your DS is excited, screaming and has a mama pointing at him with a sign to get picked, I don't see why it's an issue. :goodvibes You don't need to get on the stage to participate, but unfortunately, he won't be able to fight Darth Vader... He'll be fighting Darth Maul, who's a vicious baddie too, if I do say so myself... Try a sign, having them dressed in Star Wars gear or even a padawan costume, and if it all doesn't work, don't be afraid to come back to later showings. Make sure to get there early and have a space by the rope too. Lots of good vibes for your DS's! I really hope they get picked!

Maybe you could talk to a cast member and see if they could work something out for your son! :)

I would do this too. Offer to be a helper and move his wheelchair (probably easier than the walker since he will need to hold a light saber) for him. I'm sure if you talk to the CM in charge they will work something out. I would love to see pictures if/when he gets picked! My daughter also has cerebral palsy, and uses a wheelchair although her disability is more severe than your sons.
