My son was heartbroken after he found out he would not be able to get picked out of crowd on our last trip..
Needless to say, I need tips on what time sign ups are open. Any tips ? Or Is this going to be close to impossible now?

I'm curious about this too! We will be at DL in a week, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to get my boys signed up (if possible at this time).

I've heard that if this is important to you/child to head straight to the sign ups as you enter the park (don't delay)......
Availability is limited.

If you're going on a day that has EMH / MM that they sign-up half of the spaces during that time. And the other half of sign-ups are available during regular park admission. Also, make sure your child is with you at sign-up.
This will be our strategy in mid-August.

I'm glad they do the sign ups now (just my opinion)

Good luck and May the Force be with your younglings ! Its a fun experience !!

Registering to Participate in the Show

Younglings who wish to participate in Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple must register before the show.
  • You must be between 4 and 12 years of age to participate.
  • All participants must be present at the time of registration.
  • Please register at the kiosk located outside the exit to Star Wars Launch Bay. If you are unable to locate the registration kiosk, ask a Cast Member for help.
  • Registration begins when Disneyland Park opens for the day–including Extra Magic Hour or Magic Morning.
  • Availability is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

I plan on hitting up the sign ups with my daughter early one of the mornings....might have my wife take our son on a ride (he is 3 and cant yet be trained in the force). But our daughter LOVES SW.

It's Kylo, Darth and some female baddy I wasn't familiar with. Seventh Sister or something like that? Anyway, all three are involved in each show.

We were able to sign up twice our last trip (first time one son didn't want to do it, but then he saw the show with his brother in it and begged to do it the next day). We got there first thing and had no trouble getting a slot. Don't wait, though, and think you have time to ride Space Mountain first. Do not pass go, do not collect $200, go directly to the sign up.

Cool, thanks! Yea we will be there for 5 days so I feel like she will get in one day!

We did it last week (on our MM day) and went straight there to sign up. We got in line around 7:20am and they only had slots for the last two shows and closed the line a few families after us. I assume that was half of the slots and then they were going to reopen the line again after 8am for regular park opening and non MM guests.

If it is important to you then make sure you do what others have suggested and be there right at opening (MM or regular rope drop) and head straight there to sign up. We made sure we had a few days left on our tickets just in case we missed it that day too. It basically consumed our entire MM by the time we were done, I think we went and did a couple Fantasyland rides after, but it was worth it.

Just did this yesterday (Sunday 7/24). We arrived in DL around 10:10 and headed straight to signup area. We had our choice of the 2:25, 3:30, or 4:35 shows. We chose the 2:25, we needed to return at 2:00 with a 15 min grace period. If you are late your spot will be given to a kid on the wait list. This is all DS wanted to do, he was so excited for it and loved it! It was pretty fun to watch with him involved. In all my trips to DL I've never watched the show.

What was park opening time the day you did it? Just curious - considering doing this for our DS 4 when we go in October.

Looks like the park opened at 8am on that Sunday. And tickets were still available for 3 shows after two hours. That's good news! It's not a "rush to get there first thing" type of event.

That's great news - thanks!
