I have searched and searched and for some reason I can not find the answer that I am looking for so I was hoping that one of you might have some first hand knowledge you could share.
My DS9 is in a wheelchair and wants to do the jedi training. He can get out of his chair if he needs to, but I was just wondering if they even sign up kids in wheel chairs ( I would assume under the ADA they would have to )

Yes, they absolutely do guests in wheelchairs. I've seen a few YouTube videos featuring kids in chairs, and they often get the prime 'final spot' fighting Darth Vader. Good luck!

Thanks so much. If he is having a good day he might be able to get up and walk for a while, but if it's a not so good day he will be in pain. I have a plan of attack to try and get to us to the park very early so we can get signed up, but it would have been a bummer to get him all excited and rushed around only to find out he would not be able to participate. you both have put my mind to rest.
We leave Wed so now I am in that last minute panic mod of thinking about every little thing that could go wrong.

My daughter has done Jedi training twice now (once in 2011 and again last month). While she is mobile and was on her feet to fight Darth Vader, she went through the sign up line, the pre-training gathering, and the walk to the stage in her special needs stroller and they would have allowed her to stay in it for the actual training, too, if needed.

The only thing I would caution you to watch for is, during the pre-training gathering, to make sure that all the CMs are aware that your son is one of the participants. Because she was off to the side in her chair, some of the CMs kept forgetting to count my daughter when they were checking to be sure that all the kids were there and handing out the jedi robes. The one who checked her in knew she was a participant, but some of the others kept wanting to tell the little boy who was waiting to see if he could get a spot if there was a no-show, that they were one jedi short and there was a spot for him. She was never in danger of losing her spot as a jedi, but some of the CMs did overlook her at times.

My 8 year old son participated in the JTA in June in his wheelchair at Disneyland. The selection process there still works by getting picked by the Jedi Master at the beginning of the show. When he selected my son, he said "you there, in the speeder"! My son was in his chair the entire time and got the loudest cheers when he defeated Vader. He still relives it to us, "remember when my chair was a speeder and I defeated Darth Vader?"
