When you sign up for the Jedi Training Academy, do you get to pick your slot, or do you get assigned the next available time slot?

Thanks

We were just there the first week of February and were offered the first available time slot and asked if that would work for us. We took that time because it worked with our schedule. The CMs doing the scheduling seemed willing to work around FP+ times and ADRs to the extent possible. Good luck and remember to get there well before rope drop as the training sessions fill up very fast! :thumbsup2

We were also just there, and our cm listed the first three shows available and asked if we wanted one of those, or to hear later times. Now with FP+ in the picture they are much more flexible about you picking your time as opposed to just taking first available.

we arrived and they told us the time slot and if it was ok, It was at the same time as my ADR and they let me pick a later spot

How do you sign up for Jedi shows? Where do you go? Do you have to have magic bands for it?

Sign-ups for Jedi begin as soon as the park opens. Plan to arrive at DHS 30-45 minutes before the scheduled park opening.

As soon as they open the entrance gates, head directly to the Sounds Dangerous building with your child. The Cast Member will ask him a few questions and will sign him up for a Jedi Training session that fits into your Fp+ schedule if you have already chosen your Fp+ times.

The first session is at 9:20. If your child isn't scheduled into this first session, all you have to do is return 30 minutes before the scheduled session to prepare for the training. Your child will receive a training robe and directions. From there, the group will be taken to the stage and the training begins.

No MagicBands necessary...if you aren't an onsite resort guest, it's harder to sign-up on an EMH morning as most slots will be taken by EMH guests.

If we are having a before park opening breakfast at H&V- what time should we plan to leave to head over for sign-up? :confused3

Does the child have to be present to register? My 5 yr old really wants to do it but she has BBB that morning. My husband was going to run over to HS and register her then meet us in DTD

The only requirement was that the child had to be in line with one parent. The CMs seemed to be checking to make sure that the child was the appropriate age and able to follow instructions. They did a good job engaging the kids.

Your DH will not be able to sign her up for JTA. When she does enter the park, you can try to sign her up at that time or she perhaps will be put on the waiting list.

Okay. I will try to figure something out. Thank you.

What time does it usually fill up by? I know it depends on the day and the season, but any guesses?

If it's an EMH morning, all the slots can be filled before the park opens to all guests. On a regular morning, it can fill up within the first hour or so.

This is my question too. I asked the other day and someone told me it's only about a 2 minute walk from Hollywood and Vine to the Sounds Dangerous building. They told me when you see people trickling into the park to head over there. I think sometimes they let people in the park early now. I think I am going to try to head over around 8:45 when the park opens at 9:00, unless I see people coming in earlier.
