Jedi Training Academy sign-up advice

We're hoping to snag a 6:20PM spot for Jedi Training, but aren't planning to be in the park until around 1pm. Wondering if we'll miss our shot. Anyone have any idea?

Once all the spots fill up, then they're full. There's a chance you'll be able to get in, but if you can, I would get to the park earlier.

I would say that 1:00 seems a little late. Especially if you have a specific time you want to go. They keep a wait list (or used to) but there are no guarantees. I’d also suggest arriving earlier if you can.

Depending on if you care what time your jedi training is, I would say the latest to arrive would be 10-11 AM. If you want a specific time slot, go earlier.

Depends on the crowd level, but we signed up for Jedi Training a few times around Halloween this year (had to cancel a couple due to weather), but just about every show was still available every time we asked. Once we showed up at HS around 5pm and were able to sign up for a show at 7-7:30ish, and that show still had empty spots left at showtime. Jedi Training is really way less of a priority now that GE has opened. Easy to get a spot on a regular day.

Jedi Training was one of my DD’s favorite experiences. We wanted a show after dark, when they light the lightsabers, so we made sure to be there at rope drop for sign ups. She also really wanted to fight Vader and not the other character. If their sparring partner matters to your LO, make sure you google around and find out which circles they need to stand on in the holding area at check in to ensure they are in the “Vader Zone”. I hesitate to give that specific advice because it’s been a few years for us, but I’m sure the info is out there.

We went to sign up right at rope drop. It was packed! It was really cute though. DD8 had a great time. And she got to battle Vader! I believe to battle him the kids need to be in the line up closet to the rope (right side of lines). Although that might have changed since Feb 2018.

I have a 5 year old and a 3 year old son - the 3 year old will be almost 4 when we go. How strict are they regarding the "4-12" age recommendation? How do they even know how old they are? If my 5 year old does it by himself my 3 year old will go ballistic!

They are strict (or at least they were times we've gone). They'll ask your 3 yo how old he is. We went with my brother's family when my niece was a young looking 4. They asked and she refused to answer so they asked my 4 yo how old she was.

Perhaps the 5 year old waits until the 3 year old is old enough so that everyone can understand about rules.

With my experience with it, at rope drop the line for signing the kids up (near the exit of Indiana Jones ride BTW) was an hour and it was whatever was available, couldn't choose.
