Jeans for dinner?

The official word is yes.

Who is making the popcorn today?

Some people wear jeans on the causal nights. The only request is "no shorts."

If you make the popcorn, I will bring the twizzlers! :rotfl2:

And I think I'm going to hide behind the sofa... These things get too heated for me. Oh wait, I forgot to put the flame resistant armor on the furniture!

Jeans for dinner?

We have found that a nice pair of slacks have half the calories.. :rolleyes1
and we dont find them acceptable.

If I can wear jeans, why can't I just wear a nice pair of shorts! Hee Hee!
Pass the popcorn and tootsie rolls, I'm joking!

I'll throw another couple bags of popcorn in the microwave. It looks like this could turn into a food fight. :) Did you bring red twizzlers?

Why anyone would want to wear jeans in the tropics is beyond me. I have not had a pair of jeans on since May and don't expect to wear any until late September. Why anyone would want to pack a bulky pair of jeans is beyond me. Why anyone would want to wear jeans in a nice dining room is beyond me. Why people keep asking the same questions is beyond me. Why this will turn into a debate is beyond me, people will wear what they want anyway. Should I go on?

I haven't been around these boards very long, but long enough to know...

Here we ago again! Could you please pass the Twizzlers? :rotfl:

Sorry, I forgot to ask if I could please have some popcorn? I had a long week and still have 25 days till we leave for Universal and the Wonder.

Jeans....yes....

I also want some popcorn. I will open some nuts....and make the drinks.....
This might be a long one...

As far as I know, jeans are acceptable now that DCL loosened the dress code. But on our last two Wonder cruises, there were the same number of people wearing them as in times past when they weren't supposed to.
Remember, even back then the dress code is "Suggested."

I just wanted to say to Little Miss Liberty - who has only 8 posts and is pretty new here - Welcome to the boards! Please don't take the above posts as insulting.
I haven't been on the cruise boards enough to see a jeans thread either (I hang out over on the DVC board), or to know the obviously long-running joke they have here.
My DH would probably want to take a pair of jeans as well - a nice, clean, dark pair that go well with a nice polo or tropical shirt. We've never been on a cruise - Disney will be our first - and it's my impression from Disney (from talking to their reps and from thier own web site) that they are relaxing the dress codes not to let people off the hook from looking dressed up - but because they want a casual, comfortable atmosphere on their ships. And jeans in January (when we're probably going) might be just fine.
If other people want to take the time to check other's wardrobes out their vacations - well - have fun! But if Disney is ok with a nice pair of jeans at a casual dinner (as most restaurants in the US are) I don't see where there is a problem. Just my 2 cents, and hope you'll post more! :flower:

No insults are meant at all. To anyone. Please do not take it that way. I think most of everyone who has posted has been on a thread recently about proper dining attire (sorry I forget the actual name of the thread). Oh my goodness....some of those people were very ... how do you put it... set in there ideas.

I for one do not care what anyone wears to dine in. I do not care if they come with unacceptable attire for formal night. I did states wears...so that means they have to actually have some clotehs on... :rotfl2:

Congrat to posting Little Miss Liberty!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Glad to have you on here.

On 7 night Magic, we did not see one person in jeans at dinner. So, acceptable or not it would still be a personal choice. Everyone dressed casual and nice (no shorts were seen on anyone over age 3).

If you would like to see the history of this great debate just search for "dress code." Be sure that you have a nice selection of snacks before you start reading though. ;)

Actually, I took a pair of jeans to put on after dinner, but after eating all that food, they were pretty uncomfortable. Won't take any next time! A skirt or capri's for casual night are more comfy on your full stomach! (and believe me, mine expanded alot on that 7day cruise)

Can someone tell me if jeans are acceptable for dinner on board.
Thank-you

Jeans are absolutely acceptable. Some people wear them everynight, except formal night (if you are on the magic). All nights are casual nights now..so no need to pack a bunch of extra clothing. I wish I would have known this before our recent 14 night. The casual dress dining is definately the way to go.
