I hate to overpack and was only going to take shorts and sandals. Do you think the weather is warm enough? We're used to going to WDW and don't want to be cold.

WDW? You'll be fine with shorts and sandals. I went once during January and wore shorts the entire time.

Short answer: who can tell? Unhelpful, I know. ;) We were in the park for five days last week, and the first two days were unbelievably hot in the afternoon and pretty cool at night. The second-to-last day was breezy and overcast--I wore my sweatjacket all day and was comfortable, especially after sundown. The last day--last Thursday--it rained most of the day and was FREEZING. We enjoyed the rain in the AM but got thoroughly soaked, but then the weather went cold and we were miserable the rest of the day. The moral of the story is: I would suggest bringing a light jacket or warm sweatshirt at minimum. We wore shorts/capris most days, and I wore flip-flops (nice for wet rides), but the warm top was absolutely necessary. If you have a few light-to-medium weight long-sleeved shirts, wear them. Means less sunblock, too. Above all, HAVE FUN! :)

yes it will be cool in the morning and when the sun goes down, so I would pack some warmer clothes.

We're going to DL, but are used to going to WDW. Just wanted to clarify.

I'm here right now, and I'd bring layers, most definitely.

Just walking around today, the weather has changed back and forth about 20 times. I would hate to be caught in a cold snap without anything to put on...

Or just bring a little extra money to buy a souvenir sweatshirt and socks. :goodvibes

May/June can be tricky months. I would bring a few pairs of socks and a few long sleeved, with maybe one jacket. I usually wear flip flops to the parks, unless it's raining. I think you may need to bring both just to be safe. :)

Have fun!

I plan on packing both. Usually shorts are good for the day time during this time of year, and then at night you may need long pants and a sweater.

Always good to have layers packed!

I think it cools down to jeans and sneakers weather at night....but i run cold. I know my feet appreciate the sneakers by then too !

I agree! I always pack a little of each just in case.

I would bring jeans! It was super hot while we were there during spring break, but most nights we wore either a sweat shirt and shorts or long pants and a t-shirt. Personally, I would bring a pair of long pants and a sweatshirt... just to be safe;)

We just got back today and it was FREEZING to us. We definitely did not bring enough warm clothes. We brought a lot of Capris and that was too cold. It was warmer today than Friday, Saturday & Sunday. It was raining and blowing a lot of wind on Friday... Very cold.

I'm leaving today and I am only bringing shorts and capris...but then I'm from northern BC so I'm used to being chilly!! I am bringing sweatshirts and stuff for the evening (especially for my DD)!!

When I lived down there and had an AP we would laugh that we could spot the tourists because it was freezing but they were trudging away in shorts & a tank top. I would bring a variety of clothes the weather can be all over the place and isn't warm 24 hours a day like WDW.

Meanwhile we were spotting the locals (yes I'm talking about the intrepid Dis'ers that we spent time with! :duck: ) b/c they were bundled up while I was sweating with the heat all day! (despite being colder sometimes and putting a blanket around DS when he was in his stroller as the day went on)

It is better to be safe than sorry. Just think, if you bring a sweatshirt, you can always take it off. If you dont bring one, you cant put it on. We went Memorial weekend in 2004 and the first day to me was freezing, I had to change out of my shorts after the first attraction to my cute sweats. The following days were fine, shorts and tanks were no prob!!

HTH!!

oh, I need to buy new sweats. Being FREEZING would be such a great excuse to buy some Disney ones! I was going to pack mostly capris for myself. I went to San Jose this time of year back in 02 and my sil told me how hot it was there, how she loved the weather. I froze the whole time. HATED that weather.

But I am the coldest one in the family so hopefully the kids will be ok with just one sweatshirt and a pair of pants.

I went right after Labor Day one year and ended up having to buy a sweatshirt it was so cold. Surprised me, but I got a Disneyland 50th sweatshirt out of it so I'm not complaining. Because of that I do advise people going in "question" months to be prepared for cold weather.

If you want to buy a Disney sweatshirt, than don't worry about packing one, but if the budget's too tight for that, than by all means pack one. Better to not need it and have it then need it and not have it. The parks aren't as much fun when you're freezing.

We were there a week and half ago and thank goodness I threw in extra warm clothes at the end, it was freezing half the time in the 90's the other half!
