Day 7:

You would laugh if you saw my notes from this trip. I start out as a ball of fire, carefully writing down every detail making sure I note every nuance. This is my notes covering day 7 verbatim: akl did dino, tuf to b bug and siteseeing**to pi for monster inc. was neat cause Anth was sully@ mnsshp ** Disney attention to detail WOW

I will now elaborate. We went to Animal Kingdom in the morning trying to catch the opening but were unsuccessful because we can’t move my ever growing butt fast enough to make it!! We did manage to get there to do Dinosaur and It’s Tough to be a Bug again. We did spend several hours just sightseeing. Taking the time to really inspect The Tree of Life was great. Seeing all of the real animals around the Tree was even more fun. I thought that the kids would get tired of this and want to hop on a ride but they loved more than we did. Disney’s attention to detail is truly remarkable. Very few barriers are noticeable unless you look for them. The mix of animals is very pleasing and natural looking.

In the afternoon we headed over to Pleasure Island in order to eat at Planet Hollywood and to see Monster Inc. As soon as we got there we bought the tickets for Monsters Inc., which was a good idea because by the time we got back from late lunch and dessert it was sold out. We headed back to Planet Hollywood, which is right next door, and had lunch, I had $75 in gift certificates from giftcertificates.com and a couple of gift certificates from the online store. We couldn’t use two different types of GC’s and we were told that because we were using GC’s they would automatically add a gratuity. Please see restaurant reports board for a more complete story.

We headed over to the market place and stopped at the Lego store. What a great place. My DS Anthony loves Legos and Bionicles so he really loved this store and the kiosk in front. The statues are really cool too. We then strolled over to Ghiradelli Chocolates. Now I know that good ice cream is expensive but $6 for a double cone is a bit much. We decided to go with the Earthquake for $21. Couldn’t finish it, almost made us sick…in a delightful sort of way.

Next we waddled ourselves over to the AMC movie complex to see Monsters Inc. Anthony and I wanted him to wear his costume to the show but we decided that ir was too hot. There is one way to describe this complex…BIG, REALLY, REALLY BIG, TOO BIG!!! I had a camcorder with me when I bought the tickets, when I walked past the ticket taker and when I walked past the gentleman who was standing at the front of theater # 19, where the movie was playing. We get our seats and the kids need to go to the bathroom (surprise!!). I ask another attendant where we could find a bathroom. He tells me where they are and then informs me that I can’t have the camera with me. He then lets me know that I can keep it in the safe in the manager’s office. So we head down to the manager’s office which is apparently located outside of Tampa someplace. We give my camcorder to a 12 yr old manager and he takes my name down. I figure I have seen the last of my camcorder. Luckily Jackie and I thought about this while we were stuffing our faces with ice cream and had written down the serial numbers and had put my initials and part of my SS# on and in the camera someplace so we could easily identify it. Seriously though, they were very polite and helpful. Go see the movie it is really cute….I know Disney and cute, who would have guessed it. I figure by eating all that ice cream I saved thousands of dollars by not having to buy popcorn and pop (soda).

When we got out of the theater it was raining a little. We just headed to the bus stop and took the bus back to the Poly. A very nice and relaxing evening.

Next: Our last day!!

So I take it you got your camcorder back. Guess they didn't want guests videotaping the movie. Another great day, thanks for posting!

Sounds like a fun day. We always say that we'll make it to see a movie at DTD, but we never do it. Maybe next time...How often do I say that?? :p

checked backpacks where we put our camcorder.......yikes.......thanks again

Great trip. Love the tree of life. Can never get enough pictures.

Tough to be a bug is my absolutley favorite 3D attraction at wdw. Sounds like you had another wonderful day.
