By now you should all know the cast!!!
Day 8:
Our last full day at WDW...boo-hoo!
As I look over our meal schedule I see that we had 2 breakfasts the entire trip. The rest of the time we ate at the concierge lounge. We would have eaten there the other two mornigs but they were the Norway Princess Breakfast and the Sunrise Safari.
Today we meet some freinds at MK for lunch so since we have some rides to do there that is where we head.
The first thing we do when we get to MK is pin trade, we are now fully addicted to this cursed hobby. It's a good thing that each one of us no longer own any "tradeable" pins.
Now we head over to Buzz Lightyear. For some strange reason my DW gets stuck with a broken lazer yet again...ask her, every time she rides this attraction her gun must be broken because she is a much better shot than her 200,000 pts indicates. I score fairly well the first 2 times we are on the ride. My DS Drew however is not as accurate and is mired in the mid 20,000 to 30,000 range. It doesn't make him feel any better when his older brother is scoring in the 150,000-200,000 range. Then on ride #3 Drew hits something, I look over about half way through and he has 626,000 pts, then 762,000, then he tops out at 999,999!! That made the day for him! I don't know what he hit, it looked like he was shooting at air to me but he must have hit something good.
Next we did Space mountain, Orbiter, people mover and some other stuff I can't remember it all (remember, No notes). We went to Tony's for lunch and it was great! It is still a character meal because the Crystal Palace is still being refurbished. The freinds that we met are CM's. She has a tough job, occasionally she has to try out the new attractions or shows to critique them. granted that isn't her only responsibility but it's a nice perk. She also told us about the increase in characters throughout WDW starting Oct 1 and the refurbishments to be done to the Luau. The lucky stiff is also getting a piece of the original glass from the Crystal palace on a nice plaque as a remembrance.
She asked us if we had seen Fantasmic this trip. We hadn't and told her that we had the dinner package last trip and weren't that impressed. We enjoyed Illuminations much more. She told us that the seats reserved for the dinner package stunk in her opinion. She doesn't like to sit there and suggested that we get there a little early and sit toward the center. She let us know that if WE didn't like it that there was something wrong. She didn't mention if the something wrong was with us or the show however! We took her advise and got there a little early. We got a front row seat ( did you know that you could get wet sitting up front? Good thing it was warm) and waited for the show. What great advice! We truly loved this show! We got a much better feel for the show when we sat center stage. We still like Illuminations more but give Fantasmic a very close 2. It would probably be a toss up if we HAD to chose just 1.
After the show we headed back to the lodge and started to pack. We ordered a pizza for us to munch on since the kids were hungry. They fell asleep before mom returned with it. Oh, well.
Day 9 was just some final pin trading moments and a leisurely ride to the airport.
Next: final thoughts and probably some stuff I forgot to write down!
