The Cast:
Dave (jdads2), my DW Jackie (Dwofjdads2), Anthony (DS age 11), Drew (DS age 8) and Sara (DD age 5).
Day 4:
We finally get a day to sleep in! Up at 8:00 am. We have yet to spend any money on breakfast thanks to the fine fair at AKL concierge lounge! Bagels, muffins, croissants, fresh fruit, oatmeal with toppings (raisins, granola or brown sugar), cereal from Kelloggs and lots of delicious pastries. Let us not forget the coffee machine from heaven!! Espresso, cappuccino and latte. WAKE UP WDW HERE I COME!!!
After an eye popping breakfast and a few espressos, we head to MGM.
We head right over to ToT and RnR. We ride both a few times then head to The Great Movie ride. The ride broke down the last time we were there so we had to make sure and see it thru this time. Soon it was time for our PSs at Prime Time Café! You have to love this place. Aunt Brenda would be taking care of us this afternoon. We were seated at two tables, after all there were 9 of us. Well, silly Aunt Brenda left us for a short time and when she returned we had rearranged the furniture to make 1 large table. Boy did we get an earful for that! She showed lots of pictures of the rest of our relatives, none of which look like us. Lunch was very, very good. I had my mom order the pot roast and she was not disappointed. If you want to know more on the food Ill have a full review on the restaurant board eventually.
We have done lots of pin trading on this trip. The kids have been great with it. The CMs have been wonderful! My sons always seem to need a pin but dont have any to trade so mom and dad mostly mom donate their pins to them in order to trade. A couple of times the kids traded a pin in order to give it to their sister or each other. When the CMs noticed this they would return the pins the kids originally traded. They commented on how they dont see kids give up their pins to their siblings. Quite a proud moment mom and dad. My DD would keep a newly traded pin for an average of about 2 hours. She felt that she had to trade with everyone. Throughout the trip the kids were given probably 5-6 pins each. Mostly for good deeds they had done, like giving away pins or helping pick up or because the CMs had seen them every day at the market or lounge trading pins.
We do a little pin trading after lunch and decide to hit a few rides and get Lilo and Stitches autographs. Then the heat got to us and we head back to the lodge by about 4:00.
We get back to the lodge in time for the afternoon/evening offering this is so good its silly! They have meatballs, barbecued shrimp, more fruit, cheese, wine, humus, veggie and beef wraps. There was more but I cant remember it all.
After that we head to the pool. After about an hour we head to the savannah for story telling. We get there about 30 minutes early in order to get rocking chairs. The kids take turns looking for animals and holding chairs for each other. Turns out they didnt have to hold any chairs. They decided to sit before the crowd (maybe 20 people) arrived. Well Anthony decided to give his chair up to an older woman. Quite the gentleman OK dad had to prompt him but he looked at me like oh man, what was I thinking. Hes a great kid. The storyteller was pretty good if you were an adult, great if you were a kid. After the story we headed back to the pool and then up to the lounge for candies and cordials yum yum yum yum yum!
Early to bed tonight! Busy day tomorrow!
Next: 1 safari + 3 parks = 5 tired guests!!
