I've tried searching {and all I get are pin trade requests}, but i was wondering if anyone had come across anything close to what I could use to do a Jasmine themed reception? I love the movie Aladdin, and Jasmine is my favorite princess. I've seen tons of Mickey/Minnie and Cinderella/Prince Charming things, but I'd rather have something related to Jasmine/Aladdin.

Any ideas? I'm open for anything you've seen: cake ideas, favors, accessories, links to website you might possibly think there's something on! Anything would be of great help. :flower3:

Hmmm I would say go for a middle eastern/ morroccan vibe. Is this a custom wedding? name tables after characters in the wedding. Somehow incoporate the flying carpet. Have a whole new world as your first dance. I am sure people here will come up with some more good ideas;)

Wow that would be a great theme. The colors could be jewel tones. You could have magic laterns as favors. You probably could get them at a import store. The cake could look like a Palace or a cloud with a Magic Carpet and maybe Lenox Jasmine and Aladdin?

Lanterns- great idea! These were at an event I went to a few months ago:

I found the image that's in your avatar online and converted it to a photoshop file. I then cleaned it up a little and gave it a sapphire background. That would be pretty for invitations or programs. You could print these out and then add a vellum overlay with all the information. I can send you the photoshop file if you decide you like it. Just PM me your email address.

This is such a great theme. You could use magic lamps as centerpieces. We had originally thought of having each of our tables as a different Disney couple. One table would have been Aladdin themed and we were going to use magic lamps. I found some brass ones that were elegant andthat looked like the ones from the movie awhile back on Ebay. You could even have a coctail hour with Morrocon foods and such.
Have fun planning!

when I think of aladdin and jasmine I think candles in beaded candle holders, jewel tones, metallic fluffy pillows with tassles, differnet collored carpets spread out, geanie lamps possibly as centerpiecs with either candles or flowers in them,

here is a link to a cake topper i found:

here is a website with ornaments you could use as a cake topper:

i think a cake would look cool if it was smooth, and had the design or a wrapped or a few stacked up "magic carpets" with all teh colors, etc.

or something like at this link:

I feel your pain, whenever I hear disney or fairtale wedding everything is Cinderella based - but have no fear!!! other fairytale themes can be done! I'm doing Little mermaid myself so I'm combining a ocean theme and castles to create my Little Mermaid theme.

You picked a good place to start - the ladies here are very Creative!

Ebay is a great place to look for the unique wedding themes. If you are doing searches for alladdin cakes toppers, try aladdin figures or lenox fiqures. Or if you have a little more to spend, check out WDCC collections. you may be able to find something to use as a cake topper, but it may not be called a cake topper. I did this and found a great little mermaid figure, but it wasnt called a topper. It was the WDCC Ariel & Eric dancing, It was pretty costly but I wanted it to tie my theme together. My mistake was that it was absolutely huge when I first saw it in person, so I'll be using it as a decoration at my cake table instead.

Try searching middle-eastern themes instead of Aladdin or Jasmine. This will broaden your search but still give you great ideas to Jasmine's lifestyle.

If you are having you Wedding at Disney and can do a Custon, I believe Moracco is a possible location, but not 100% sure. It may also be a possible location for a dessert party to watch the Illuminations at Epcot. Try the disney weddings website and check out the wishbook. I know they have Lumiere as a available character, maybe you can request the Genie to appear at your wedding?

Other ideas are to have magic carpets and rustic genie lamps as your decor. Have genie lamps as your centerpieces.Cheap Thin oreintal rugs as Magic Carpets laid out in strategic places like draped over the cake table or guest book table. Try to get similar floral that Jasmine has in her palace garden. Or use large fluffy pillows for your guests to sit on with low tables instead of the standard table and chairs as you usually see at weddings. Also use tons of swag tulle in deep pinks or purples. You can also do a dove release as Jasmine does in the movie - now that I'm typing this, I'm thinking of bird cages. Paint a bird cage gold and use it as a card holder or as decor.

Instead of refering to the 'castle' search the word 'palace'. I saw somewere that had Jasmine's palace as a napkin icon in one of my wedding catalogs.

Of course, the most obvious is to use "A Whole New World" as your wedding song.

Use alot of jewel tone colors and gold tones for an arabic feel. If you really want to go all out and be different, have belly dancers as your reception entertainment. I've seen fire dancers on wedding videos alot.

Hope that gives you a start! Just think of alternative words to search instead of searching Aladdin or Jasmine. Arabic, Middle Eastern, Palace might broaden your search a little. Think of the type of world your fav princess lives in wehter it be a classic fairytale castle or the ocean or in an enchanted garden and you'll be able to come up with TONS of ideas. You just have to decide how drastic you want your theme to be.

I just remembered I have 44 of these mirrors (used them on the front of invitations for a party). If you would like them I would send them to you. Some of them have glue on the back, but you could use them for alot of things with your theme.

I was just flipping through a wedding magazine (The Weddings Abroad section of You & Your Wedding, a British magazine) when I spottted a blurb about Disney World weddings. In talking about themes, it said, "Some brides and grooms choose alternative wedding cars such as Aladdin's magic carpet or Cinderella's glass coach." I don't know anything about this, and I've never heard of this transportation option. But it doesn't hurt to ask... That would be very cool, I think!

Those look so neat:cutie: -- did you make those Laura?

Wow! You guys are giving me great ideas! I was thinking of blue/purple/silver as my colors, but now I'm leaning towards gold instead of the silver. *ponders*

I've got a lot of thinking to do, and I'll find out tomorrow if the Disney Wedding is a go! I tell my parents I'm engaged tomorrow! *crosses fingers* Wish me luck!

Ok, just let me know and I will send them to you. No I bought them at Kirkland's. I had a Hollywood themed party and they were on the invites and tables.

When i think Jasmine, i think Middle Eastern. the colours you choose of purple and blue are awesome and would go well with gold if it's a nice rich red based jewel tone. so here are some idea's whether it's disney or a home wedding:
favors : using those great mirrored bits, wrap up some candles in some rich coloured material (other than tulle) and tie it with ribbon glueing on the mirrored bits or using the mirrored bits on a tag.

if you use candles or flowers, get a Middle Eastern pattern like stamp, use paint in gold (roll it on) and stamp it on the holders. Can also be used for flower vases. (Saw something similar on ole Miss Martha Stewart magazine.) unless you can find some old Morraccan drinking glasses. Or in using candles use coloured sands in the base of the holders.

find a way to use colourful glass tile in your decor.

Flowers: roses, bright gerbera daisies

Hire a Bellydancer. A friend of mine had this at her wedding and it was just such a fun idea. Everyone enjoyed it.

I just thought of something else- my mom had bought a boraccan vase when we went to WDW last year when i got engaged. Maybe large jewel toned vases too?

Also if your game, get a stuffed abu doll to decorate your cake table or have a little abu figure stealing something off your cake
