Reading this while waiting on the parade. I’ll say it since I’m here with you- Chinese. You don’t even have to guess, really. And saying Chinese (from China, of course) are bad tourists is like saying the sky is blue. Every single country knows it, it’s not even Politically Incorrect to say it.
Nara was my least favorite part of our trip too. Miyajima Island is much better for deer without the throngs of rude foreign tourists. The deer also seem much calmer and don’t beg. It’s a better “deer experience” overall IMO.
I will say that I absolutely loved Kyoto though. Possibly because we were at the Ritz which is in a fantastic, very clean, very uppity district. And the hotel itself was absolutely mind blowing. Best hotel service I’ve ever had.
We had green (Thanks Barclays Arrival+). With our 5 year old not needing a ticket and being a “lap” child, green always had empty seats next to them so it was worth it to us for that alone for her to have her own seat.
If we didn’t have her and need that extra (unpaid) seat, I wouldn’t get it.
It’s 2-2 seating instead of 3-2 like the main “regular” cabin. So a smidge wider (doesn’t matter) and better recline (doesn’t matter). Each seat had an electrical plug also instead of just the window seat like in regular cabin (doesn’t matter). Bathrooms in green are a bit nicer but you can also use those from any cabin (so... doesn’t matter). So all in all, well, it doesn’t matter.
In other news: Paint the night- take a seat. You have been dethroned as the best nighttime parade (by a small margin).
