I know that I have read somewhere about selecting an oyster and getting a pearl, but can't remember where. With 2 girls ages 8 and 9, this would be great. Could someone point me in the direction of some info. Thanks

I've seen a stand on the boardwalk in front of the y/bc with a pick a oyster/pearl. I've never seen one in the japan pavillion though. Hope this helps.

I'm fairly certain that you can purchase the oyster and pearl at the Mitsukoshi Department Store located inside the Japan pavilion. :)

Yes, you can select an Oyster...they will take the pearl out and then you can choose to have it set right there in a piece of jewelry or not. It's really great fun and a nice surprise for your DD! Also on several occasions we have been standing out in front of the Japan pavillion and there has been a person making animals out of a taffy! if you get in at the right time, you can get on for your kids....we had a Crane and a Dragon! they were so beautiful that the kids didn't want to eat them but they never would have survived the trip home. Have FUN!:wave2: :wave2:

Yes, that is where you can find them. I did this for the very first time this past week. It was so much fun! Wishing your daughters as much luck and fun as I had.

helenm29 mentioned the candy artist.....her name is Miyuki, check the TImes guide at Epcot for when when will appear. It really is fascinating to watch her fashion a blob of taffy into a detailed animal. By the way, they are not for sale, if you are lucky enough to get there at the right time and be chosen, she will ask you what animal you would like and then you are given the lollipop at the end. My niece was lucky enough to get one and I did figure out a way to bring it home. WHen she gives it to you, the candy part is in a plastic bag that is fashioned so it fits around the candy like a small balloon. I asked for a large empty paper cup at the food court and punched a hole in the bottom and pushed the stick through the hole so that the candy animal (still in it's plastic bag) was inside the cup, then put on a plastic lid. We were able to pack this in my niece's luggage and it made it home fine.
