We are thinking about going to the Teppanyaki Dining Room on our next trip. Can anyone describe the seating? I know that a chef prepares the food in front of you, but are you seated in an actual dining chair or on a bar stool?

Thanks!

You sit 8 to a table at regular chairs. You need to be careful about putting your hands on the grill. It is a lot of fun. I went with some friends in Aug.

I had my first meal there in August. While I enjoyed the delicious food I found it very cramped. My mother and I were wedged between two families of three. We felt like we couldn't have a conversation because everyone was so close together. We probably won't do this again because of the seating situation. Our table was pretty much silent through the whole meal. Next time I will try the Tempura Kiku.

Thanks for the replies! How close are the seats to the grill? We were thinking of taking our preschooler, but it sounds like we should choose another restaurant. Opinions?

This is fine for a preschooler. They have the kids sit at the ends of the table so that they won't get burned. Only adults are allowed to sit directly in front of the guy who's cooking. This restaurant is terrific. We liked everything from the sushi right down to the grilled dinners. The seats aren't that close together -it's like a regular restaurant table with a grill in front of you. Great choice - have a good time!

Thanks for the link! That was very helpful, as are everyone's comments.

We love the food and the opportunity to talk to other guests from around the world. We have been fortunate to be seated with interesting people and enjoy getting their perspectives.

We've eaten here a few times with our family (Over the years the kids have ranged from 9 for the youngest, to young adults). We have always enjoyed the experience, and loved the food. One Caveat, however, the experience is somewhat dependant upon your "Chef". On one trip, the Chef at the grill next to ours was very quiet, and the entire table seemed unusually subdued.

Thanks for the help! Has anyone ever taken a 3 - 4 year old?

Yes a couple of years ago we had a very on the go 3 yr. old in our party and there was no problem.
