Im planning a trip around the second or third week of Janurary, but my dates are very flexible. I was just wondering how the crowds are around that time? Any one have any pics? What are the best times to go in either Jan or Feb? This will be my first trip to Disneyworld.. MY DBF and 2 yr old daughter will be with me. IM coming all the way from Hawaii.. So i want to make sure my daughter will be able to enjoy the parks with the lowest crowds possible. She has been to Disneyland 4x.. So I know she will love it at Disneyworld! Thanks in advance everyone!

January is a great time to visit WDW. We've taken 4 trips in January. I would suggest avoiding the marathon weekend and the MLK holiday weekend, if possible. The crowds are small. Usually the waits are less than ten minutes and often you can just walk on the rides. We've ridden rides a dozen time in a row with no wait and even ridden multiple times without getting off. There are times when you come across a longer line, but most of the time there is no need for a fastpass. No standing in line for counter service or searching for a table. We've been in Oct and Nov, and we're taking a May trip in a few weeks. Any time of year is fun, but I think January is my favorite just because we are able to do so much. We'll be going back next January.

There are a few busy weekends to watch for, MLK weekend, and Marathon weekend, and the end of Jan should be busy with Superbowl in Tampa. Begin of Feb until mid Feb is a good time.

I agree with the other posters. One thing they didn't mention was the weather. This time of year, the parks close a little early and weather is very unpredictable. Most days we were in 5 layers of shirts and jeans. At night we were in winter coats and wearing long underwear under our jeans, and hats and mittens (and I'm from Michigan). I've never seen so many people buying cheap gloves and hats at inflated prices! Yet on the same trip, 3 days later, we were in shorts (granted that was the ONLY day that trip we got out of jeans and sweatshirts!!).

It is a GREAT time to go, and the crowds are so light it's just wonderful. And touring in cooler weather can be nice - you definitely won't sweat and get tired from the heat, or worry about thunderstorms. But you have to pack for every type of weather, because you never know what you're going to get, and it can change day to day (as you'll see in my pics).

All these pics are taken from the same trip in Jan 2005.
