I’m thinking of doing a DL trip January 15-18 so I can be there when ROTR opens but also be there a couple days before when the mad rush might not be there yet. Generally how are crowds in January at that time? And are rides likely to be open when ROTR opens? I know Splash Mountain closes in January sometimes and if was closed I would be SO sad!!!

My prediction is that the parks will be absolutely slammed at that time. Combination of ROTR, NAMM convention and MLK weekend.

Hotel rates are pretty nuts for that time period where you can still find availability.
