We are considering a trip to DW at the end of January. Coming from the west coast, I have NO idea what the weather will be like. Is it typically warm that time of year? Rainy? Will it be warm enough for the pool and water park?

We were there last January. It was cold the first few days, at least cold to a Texan. Highs in the 50s, low in the low 30s at night. It warmed up by the end of the week to high 70s during the day and high 50s at night. No rain the whole seven days though.

Basically be prepared for a wide range of temps and be prepared to check the weather at the 10 day out mark to know what to pack!

The weather was beautiful all in all. We got some great pics of crystal blue skies! Even the cold weather wasn't bone numbing, especially since it was a dry cold.

HTH!

We went in January in 06, 07, 08 and 09.

You need to be prepared for warm and cool, we even bring thin gloves for Spectromagic, etc. Most trips we can typically make it in the pool a few days and we get to wear shorts about half the trip, but 09 was so cool DD is wearing the same 2 fleece tops in most of our photopass pics! Every year we had very little rain, 09 I think only one afternoon.

This year I followed the 10-day forcast and packed ahead, a day or two before everything changed with a cold-front and had to re-pack. Still brought some shorts and dresses just incase, only the first weekend was warm enough to wear them. I don't mind the Jan temps... it beats snow and ice!

I wouldn't buy waterpark tickets until you get there, you can upgrade tickets if the weather is nice.

I am thinking of planning a trip in January- it is my DD 6th birthday. worried it will be bad pool weather? Last year we wnet in June and we were miserable and hot.

I WAS AT DISNEY LAST JANUARY 2009. I ARRIVED THE DAY BEFORE THE MIRACLE ON THE HUDSON:rotfl:. IT WAS FREEZING IN FLORIDA THAT WEEK. WE STAYED AT THE POLYNESIAN AND IT WAS TOO COLD TO SWIM. ALL THE CM HAD WINTER COATS ON TOO. :tilt:. I ONLY BROUGHT 1 PAIR OF LONG PANTS ( THAT IS WHAT I WORE DOWN AND I CAME FROM PHILADELPHIA PA, A COLD STATE )HAD TO WASH THEM. I WAS VERY SURPRISED AT HOW COLD IT WAS THERE, ALWAYS THOUGHT IT WAS WARM IN FLORIDA ALL YEAR ROUND. MY GRANDDAUGHTR AT 1 POINT SAID "WHY DID WE COME IN JANUARY " AS HER TEETH WERE CHATTERING. NEEDED A COAT AT NIGHT. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU DRESS WARMLY

We went in Feb. last year and had a wide range of temps. They keep the hotel pools pretty warm, my kids swam in 45 degree temps....we just had to bundle them up when they got out. ;)

I must have been there the same week as previous poster. I also came from Philadelphia and my husband and I were freezing the whole week @ Disney. They said it isn't normally like that though. I am going this Jan and hoping for warmer during the day than sweatshirt type weather at night.
We walked right on every ride though. The crowds were really low, it was great.
