We have only been once ( april 07 ) and the weather was great. However we did recieve a code and are looking at January. Will we be freezing the whole time we are there? It is almost a 600 dollar difference...

Making sure talking about the same park, Disney World? No, "freezing" is not real typical here. (Living an hour a way.) It does sometimes get cold in Jan. But usually nothing more than a jacket weather. Where are you from? "Freezing" is realative. Weather.com has averages for Orlando listed as highs 72 and lows 50. The park is very crowded around New Years. Other then that, last year my DH and I bought a blanket. I even plan on going to the heated parts of the water park. $600 is a lot of money to buy a jacket and a blanket with.

Also, during specific times of January, the crowds are much lower...worth it to me to withstand having to wear jeans! Of course, being from Iowa it seems like 65 is a heat wave! We always go swimming.

We've been 3 times in January and once in December. Weather is certainly not as great as our April or May trips but it's usually okay. Our first January trip was unbearably cold--CM's said it was the coldest winter they'd had. We had to wear hats and gloves--thank goodness we had brought them because the parks were sold out of any winter gear. Our second winter trip was half warm and half cold. First half of the trip we were in shorts, the second half we were in coats. The last two winter trips have had a few warm days with cooler evenings (definitely needed jackets in the evenings) and the other days were a little cooler but not awful.

I think you have to weigh what you want out of the trip. If you like to spend a lot of time swimming, you would not want to go in January. You may get one day warm enough to get in the water but probably not every day. The crowds are a bit lighter so that's why the $$$ difference.

I love LOVE January weather at Disney-
We wore short and T-shirts often.... in the morning and when it got dark I did wear a sweeter. I hate the heat and I hate the cold and I was happy

Weather is very good for doing the parks.
