January Visit from Cananda

We are planning on coming down in Jan sometime not sure if 2nd week or 3rd week will be better. I think if any later it might a bit packed due to RR opening and 100th anniversary. We have been several times this time with 4/7 yr olds. Genie+ worht it with the littles? or just get most rides in early morning? We plan a 2hr downtime each day mid day to calm the littles over stimulation. Anyone else going this time done any more research or have tips?

The G+ question depends on what rides your 7 yr old would ride, because you can leverage rider swap and G+ so the older kiddo would get re-rides (my 2 eldest are very sad they no longer get this perk as their 6yr old brother is a daredevil now.) That said, I don’t think it would be necessary more than a day as there is so much to do for the younger set that isn’t reliant on G+.

As for timing, lunar new year celebrations start Jan 20 so I’d plan on before that (and the 100th) as particularly the first couple days DCA will be packed with influencers. Not fun.

The third week in January is a holiday weekend (1/16 is Martin Luther King Jr Day) and should be busy that and the surrounding days.

Still waiting to book for week of Jan 8th. Travel prices seems to be dropping and 6 daus before always seems to go down 1k at least. We have decided no G+ i mean if we get 6 rides a day in we are happy with that. I can see the short wait rides being several times a day anyways lol. Should be best time to go also the week of 8th. Xmas rush over kids back in school and before MLKD.

I also come down from Canada. I wouldn't have even considered going without Genie+ (we went last month). Hopefully the parks won't be super crowded when you go, but I would consider doing Genie+ if it is crowded.

Week of Jan 8th is historically one of the slowest as everyone is back to school getting back into the groove of normal life haha.

Looks like we are not gonna end up going now. Will be spending xmas 2023 in Palm springs so will likely drive up for 2 days over the 3 weeks we are down there.
