In a moment of madness ;) I convinced DH to book some BA flights to Orlando from Edinburgh so DD (almost 7 ) is heading on her first trip to WDW next year :thumbsup2.

We are seasoned DLRP visitors but DH and I have only been to WDW once (pre-DD) so we will be looking for lots of advice from you guys :goodvibes.

We have booked to stay at a villa at a very reasonable rate.:thumbsup2 not sure If I am allowed to post a link but it's at Regal plams and looks lovely :love:. DD will love :cloud9: the lazy river.

Tickets are my next mission .My current thoughts on tickets are...

7 day MYW base ticket (from Orlando attractions) for 2 days at Epcot, Studios, MK and one day at AK.

Univeral passes for one week from Univeral website or 2 weeks from Orlando attractions (only planning one day at US and 2 at I of A) but 14 day gives us more options on when to go and seems to only be around 20 more.

We are also considering a day at DC ;). I will be the only dolphin swimmer so I'm still weighing up this with seaworld tickets against 3 lots of seaworld/aquatica passes for the 3 of us.

I am so excited :yay::yay::yay:

Villa holidays are very popular, have enjoyed many over the years so they are always a sound bet and give you that freedom and space to relax also.

Magic Your Way passes are our choice too, especially the hopper & non expiry tickets as they last us more than one holiday, we buy ours from Maple Leaf.

It's all personal choice and probably surprising as we used to be Annual Pass holders but I would look at possibly a 2 day ticket here:

Discovery Cove we have been once and enjoyed it but the weather was very much on the cool side and the water freezing cold, I would imagine it would be on the cool side in January, not trying to put you off, just warning you. ;) If you do decide to go there and want an early Dolphin swim get there no later than 8am.

Just to repeat what Johnny has said, the weather can be a bit up and down in January, so water parks/DC etc can be hit and miss!

We have non expiry Disney tickets as we now only go once or twice every visit, but we buy our tickets from here:

There prices always seem to be very good and you can pick the tickets up easily at their office on Palm Parkway, near DTD.

We went to WDW last Jan and loved it! You have not mentioned your dates but the few days after New Year are very busy but after that it is lovely and quiet - you will also see some of the Christmas decorations!:goodvibes

The weather does vary as the others have said, we had to move our days around a bit to fit two waterparks in - as there was a cold couple of days. But other than that it was fab!:goodvibes

You will see the decorations on those dates!!

Make sure you go and visit the Osbourne Family Christmas lights in Hollywood Studios - they are amazing! They showed them until the 4th Jan last year when I was there so we caught the last night. Make sure to check the dates :goodvibes
