I'm trying to decide on where four women can have some great meals during our trip the last weekend in January. (Stay is at POFQ from 1/29 - 2/1). We are arriving at 1am on the 29th, so I know breakfast is most likely out for that day. We are also on the silver plan through our package, so price really isn't an issue.
I'm the only one that's been there, and have eaten at Tony's, in the Castle, The Brown Derby, Hollywood and Vine when there was a breakfast, and in Germany and China.
I would love suggestions for the newbies going with me. They love Italian, but I've been reading reviews that Tony's has gone downhill. Would love to try a resort meal at WL or Poly, but feel I have limited time being there only for a weekend. Not sure if we'd have a car yet.
Can anyone offer some suggestions for me on new places, if Tony's really has gone downhill (they were so good when I went!!) or if I should just stick with places that I know and love?

how about afternoon tea at the grand floridian? very nice! also, either artist point WL or jiko at AKL. both would be an excellent choice. tusker house in AK is counter service, but very good. we have enjoy alfredo's in italy/world showcase for italian. have you looked at the menus on deb's site? www.allearsnet.com that might be helpful. happy eating!

If you've already paid for the meals, I'd check out some of the nicer places. You may be crunched for time with just the weekend, but I never think a good meal is time wasted.

If you're going to be at Pleasure Island any, I would suggest Portobello Yacht Club- excellent Italian food, best I've had on the property.

Also, when you're at MK, Wilderness Lodge is only a quick boat ride awy, and Artist POint is sooooo good! We went there on our honeymoon when we were on a package and ate very well. Great atmosphere, great wine, excellent food.

Have fun with the girlfriends!

How about some of the Boardwalk restaurants. There are so many. The Boardwalk is just a short walk outside of Epcot and is on the way from Epcot to MGM so to eat there would not really take you out of your way. Spoodles serves Mediterranean food so there's probably something there for Italian food lovers.

If everyone likes Italian, I would suggest Palio in the Dolphin (or is it the Swan?). I always forget which one is which! DH and I went there last trip, and the food is fantastic! There is also violininsts who walk around and take requests. The atmosphere is perfect for either a romantic dinner, or as a get together for friends.

Our favorite place for meals is the Flying Fish on the Boardwalk. Great decor, great food, and is reasonably priced.

Have a great time!

Cap'n Jacks in Downtown Disney for dinner and Mexico for lunch? I've honestly never heard of Cap'n Jacks until I visited All Ears...

Definately going to hit Spoodles, Mama Melrose for lunch, and Canada for dinner...

We've never been to Cap'n Jack's, and maybe someone will post with a different opinion, but every review I recall reading of that restaurant has been bad. As ryannacci said, Portobello Yacht Club might be a good choice for a DTD restaurant. I've also read many great reviews of House of Blues and Wolfgang Puck's.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! We are still considering a few of these...on the silver plan, most of the suggestions offered take two wishes and a few of the girls wanted to do horseback riding. We are highly considering Portobello Yacht Club. Here's the damage so far:
Chef Mickeys for dinner, Mama Melroses or Portobello Yacht Club for dinner, Breakfastosaurus and Mexico. (I lost the vote for Canada! Hopefully maybe I'll be able to visit for lunch!)
Thanks for the help and if anyone still has some suggestions just let me know!
