When is the best time to go in either January or February. We want to go to celebrate both our daughters birthdays and DH birthday

We were at DL for the first week of Feb/09 and the crowds during the week were very low. Saturday and Sunday it was alot more crowded, and the lineups were alot longer. Are planning on heading back to DL again in Feb/11 because of the low crowds.

We were there this past January ( Jan 16-22) and had a blast eventhough it rained for much of our visit....but I rack that up to El Nino. We were still able to ride the christmas version of IASW before they took it down. No crowds and no waiting during the week days...and a bit more traffic on the MLK weekend (no rain during the day) but it wasn't bad at all.

We went the second week in January and I loved it. A lot of the holiday decorations were still up, mainly the snow on the castle, n.o. square and wreaths around matterhorn/IASW and IASW holiday was still going. The lights were so pretty.

But it really doesn't matter when you go between both months. The weather is similar, attendance is similar and it's offseason so the offerings of shows/fireworks/parades and hours will be the similar both months. Just be sure to avoid MLK and Presidents day holidays. And keep in mind that Haunted Mansion will be down the beginning of Jan and back up around the middle of Jan and IASW goes down the middle of Jan and back up around the end of Jan to take down all of the holiday themeing. So if either of those are a must see for you, keep that in mind.

I vote for Feb. We have been many Februarys, the weather is a bit warmer the refurbs seem to be few. And ummmm the crowds are a bit more. But nothing crazy that I have seen. But also with more anticipated guests come longer hours :)

I think you'd be fine with either. Two things to keep in mind is that Jan-Feb are the rainy months in SoCal so it's very possible (if not likely) you'll see rain at least one day of your trip. I'd also suggest you avoid the week of Presidents Day in February. A lot of SoCal schools get that whole week off and it definitely impacts the crowd levels.
