Hi, just a quick question. I know that the opening times/refurb information isn't out yet but those of you who have been in January before....

Does the park open 10 - 8 and the studios 10 - 6? That's what I seem to recall but if somebody could confirm that, I'd be grateful. :goodvibes

When i went the last week of January both parks opened at 10 and closed at 6pm, i think the week earlier Disneyland Park shut at 7pm.

hi, when i booked for the 4-7th jan i was told that sun was til 9pm, and the weekdays were 10-7 with mon and wed also having emh of 8-10am. If you give a call to disney direct, then they should be able to tell you for your dates specifically.:)

Yes i'm sure the parks during the week are open till 7pm then on the last week of January the park shut at 6pm. It was great as it was so dark :)

Ooh yes. it will be dark, won't it? That's so exciting. :woohoo: We are there from 11th - 14th so I hope the parks are open a little later.

I think your dates are still Xmas season. I'll definitely give them a ring and find out about my dates. I hadn't realised they would give out that information. Thanks.:goodvibes

Theparks opened at 10 but EMHwas 8-10 and then the park closed at 6pm but candlebration was at 6pm.
Yes it is lovely and dark in the morning and in the evening some pics i cant tell if its am or pm.

Just thought I'd share the information given to me on the phone by the CM at DLRP:

Sun 11th Jan Park 8-8/ Studios 10-7
Mon 12th Jan Park 8-7/ Studios 10-6
Tue 13th Jan Park 10-7/ Studios 10-6
Wed 14th Jan Park 8-7/ Studios 10-6

Hope this helps someone.

I was also told that you can no longer get A Good Morning Fantasyland Breakfast. Is this true? I loved that last time!

I'm sure all CM's on the phones are told to say GMF is no longer running - but it is. You just ask when you check into your hotel (in fact, some of the onsite hotels still advertise GMF in their reception areas).

Thanks for that. How strange! I thought I'd book it for the Monday as it's EMH too. Is that what most people do?

It depends how early your family prefers to have breakfast really, and what your plans are for your 2nd hour of EMH/where you want to be for ropedrop at 10am.

I've had GMF breakfast before, and I do prefer it to an early breakfast at the hotel. A 9.15 GMF breakfast would suit us perfectly, as we'd have had our first (and quietest) hour of EMH under our belts, then breakfast, then be out and ready for ropedrop at 10am. I'm going to try and book that for our party when we get there, for the Wednesday morning. But if its not available, we'll just go for early breakfast at the hotel, then hit EMH anyway at as close to 8am as possible.

Can you have more than one GMF breakfast? I think it would suit us too, as like you, we would want a quiet hour on the rides, breakfast and then the rest of the park. I can't believe I'm planning this far in advance.

Subject to availability, you can have GMF breakfast each morning of your stay if you like.

I suppose I could book it for the Monday and Wednesday for EMH. It depends how much my girls want to ride the Fantasyland rides. I'm hoping it won't be too busy when we go but it's still nice to have no queues. Do they still have Magic Unlimited access or whatever it was called? You used to be able to stay on the ride and avoid queuing again.

I'm still considering buying fastpasses off eBay...

Being able to ride again without getting off always depends on the CM and whether they're happy to let you do it. We usually ask, and often get told yes :goodvibes , in morning EMH.

You can't use fastpass, no matter how many tickets you have for it, before 10am. The machines aren't open until then. And there is only Peter Pan in Fantasyland which has fastpass anyway - for the other rides, you just have to queue (which is why we do so many of the Fantasyland rides in EMH, when its quiet).

There is fastpass for Buzz (although all the fastpass line does is get you into the staging area quicker - you can still be waiting 15-20 minutes to get through that area if the ride is busy), and Space Mountain in Discoveryland. I've never been on that - DD wouldn't go near it, and it looks a bit painful to me!

No - magic unlimited only seemed to last one season and was February - early march time if I remember rightly.

I wish they still did this - it was great fun to stay on the rides and you sometimes got to see special bits you wouldn't usually notice because of where the re-ride queue took you.

However, I think DLRP may be too popular for this to work now.

Yes, they definitely had Magic Unlimited when we went in January 2005. I think things will have changed considerably now. It was very quiet when we went but I suppose it's going to be a lot busier in January now. Still considering buying the fastpasses off eBay for the rest of the day. Looking forward to all of the new attractions.

ooooooooooooo we will be there at the same time, we are going from the 12th-17th of january. Thanks for the info on opening, the last 2 years we have been both parks have shut at 6, so we get an extra hour!! Hi, I saw we were there at the same time. I'm so excited about going. I was really glad about the extra hour too. I hope the parks are quiet - that's why we picked this date as we assumed most people would go the week before to get the end of the Xmas season. Pity about POTC being closed:sad1: However, I'm sure we'll find other things to do!

Give us a wave if you see us - Mum and Dad (exhausted) plus 3 daughters, 2 pushchairs, several bags - dashing from one attraction to the next!
