January and tour groups (value resort question)

Ok, we are set for Jan 08 trip to WDW Jan 5-12th to be exact

We have POR FQ set. But talking to the wife, I would not be opposed to a value this time around due to it just being us and kids (no inlaws like normal). Since the resort is really only for the pool and naps, why not value?

I am afraid of tour groups though. Be that cheerleaders, foreign tour groups, etc etc. I read that the values is where they stay and Jan is popular for them

I fear having the pool and food court taken over. plus being loud at night

Anyone have experiences, good or bad about this?

I could be wrong, but I heard the All Stars are the ones that get all the big groups. Also the Pop Warner event is not there on those dates. We will be there at the same time as you - only 3 days longer. The only thing I can find on our dates is the marathon.
We are staying at the Pop. I have gone back and forth on upgrading to PORFQ, but decided to save the money and buy more 'stuff' in the parks.
You should give it a try!

appreciate the response. Exact boat you were in. We are calling our TA now to see about swapping to PoP. With just us and kids, we want a pool and some where to crash at night.
