What are the park crowds like during this time?

What is the weather like?

Are the water parks still open?

I noticed that these months are typically value seasons. We usually like March. Last year it was pretty nice weather, not too hot most of the time and crowds weren't bad at all. I did notice that for Disney Resorts, it is considered Peak rates. Thought about changing my budget...

What do other DIS think?

I'll give you a brief answer, but you may be better off posting this question over at the Theme Parks board.

About January.... we have been twice and except for right around New Years and MLK weekend, the crowds are VERY LOW. Weather can be iffy. We have had to leave the parks because we were so cold (wearing sweatshirts and shorts). But there have also been some very warm days. Usually there is one water park closed for rehab and one open. During each of our trips we had one full day of off and on rain.... but that didn't stop us! (It helps keep the lines short!)..........HTH...............P

We have done WDW twice in January and it was great! We have gone the second and third week of the month. The weather was cooler...I wore jeans and tshirts but DH wore shorts. At night watching Wishes it did get pretty cold even with sweatshirts on. The days were nice though. The lines were short..we could go on Splash Mountain and get off and go right back on with no waiting..it was unbelieveable! We did hit Martin Luther King Day and it was a bit busier but not by much!!

They say after New Years January is a nice month...never been in February. Of course you get off peak rates and even my rental car was 12.00 per day with Thrifty! I have not been able to get even close to that again!! The downside is the parks are closed earlier and some attractions are also. We dont use the waterparks so I am not sure the answer to that one.

Enjoy--have fun!

Thanks.

Forgot to post that DD's birthday is January 25th, so I thought about the last week of January into the first week of February.

We went last year in March and MK still closed at 7:00. Very disappointing. I love seeing the castle at night. I noticed that it's classified as Peak for pricing, but the hours sure didn't reflect peak...
