January 8, 2005 Magic Cruise - Let's Get Ready to Cruise!

Welcome, Sopandbass. That must have been disappointing about your last cruise, however it will be good to have you joining us.

DisneyGal, although the calendar says it is spring, the snow on my lawn states differently. Send some of that warm weather up this way.

Lisa,
There has to be an end to winter soon! Our 80 degrees have given way to high 60s and strong winds. Everything changes in a moment.

We are planning to spend next Monday at WDW and try out the new Pop Century hotel for my daughter Erin's birthday. If I can pick anything up for anyone let me know by Saturday.

Hey guys,

Here is the warning on how to do a countdown. I suggest you read the threads on the technical assistance board first, it will prevent common errors. Then follow the link at the bottom of the first post to generate your clock.

Carla (still wondering if we get to go, but we have scheduled a five day WDW July 5-10!!! at the Dolphin)

Hey, we'll be on the Eastern cruise 1-8-2005. It will be myself, Staci 36, DH 37, DS 9, & DS 5. (ages at the time of cruise, lol)
Also joining us will be my good friend Lisa 34 and her DS 5. We're not too sure which day we are flying in from Dallas, TX. But we'll be there!!
This is mine and oldest son's 2nd Disney cruise and everyone else's first. I cannot wait to show them the ship and meet everyone from the boards. Hopefully we'll get a meet together.
See ya in 290 days!
Staci

Stacy,
Welcome! Did you sail Eastern or Western the last time? 290 days seems like such a long time, but it will be here before we know it. By the way - I love the Rob Thomas reference;it's definitely a phrase that I can relate to.
Carla,
I hope that you will be able to sail January 8th.

Countdown Clock Envy,
Dawn

Stacie: welcome to the board. I hope we all do have a chance to meet up on the ship. My last two DCL cruises we had a DISBoard meet and it was fun to put a face to all the people we chatted with for so long.

I drive through Denton often from Oklahoma City because my DS and his wife live in Mesquite. I'll wave the next time I drive through!

Hi everyone, thanks for the great welcome.

Disneygal, the last time I cruised with Disney they only had the Eastern cruise. I've been on both the eastern and the western iteneraries on other cruise lines. We decided on the eastern again for a few reasons. One, we have a friend and her son traveling w/ us. This will be their first cruise ever. She has already been to cancun/cozumel and never to st. thomas/st. marteen. Living in Texas we can get to the western ports pretty easily by plane. Also, all of the cruises (RCCL, Norwegian, Carnival, and soon to be Princess) that go out of Port Galveston and Port Houston go to the western cities as well. Second,
Since my husband and I have been to all of the ports on both iteneraries, we would like to have an extra day at sea on the ship.

Brack, Thanks for the warm welcome. On our last cruise as well we had a DIS meet and it was a blast. I too like to put faces with names. Please do wave next time you pass through Denton. Just don't give me the finger because the traffic is SO horrible on 35 now. UGH! It makes me crazy. When are you traveling to Orlando for the cruise? We haven't decided yet. We'll be flying stand-by (I work for an airline) so probably a day or two in advance.

Can't wait to meet everyone. The time is just not flying by.
Staci

Staci,
I agree that one more sea day makes the Eastern Itinerary highly desirable.

41 More Weeks everyone!

Dawn

I try to go through Denton when the traffic is light but I don't blame the people just the slow Texas DOT. That road should have finished long ago.

We will probably go to Orlando a couple of days early to visit the mouse. A lot depends on what happens at work.

Someone on the April 18th thread mentioned that their daughter got a postcard from Minnie Mouse and is ready to set sail. Dawn, you had mentioned postcards. Do you have an extra one that my DD could receive? Is there even time for that? That would be so cool.

Welcome, Staci and crew.

We will be flying in the day before the cruise and staying the night near the port.

If anyone would like a postcard sent to their child, spouse etc...PM with names/addresses etc... and I'd be happy to do that. We just got back from an overnight at Pop Century - a bit larger/nicer than All Stars (much better food court) and we find ourselves at WDW at least once a month. So, if anyone needs anything I'm happy to help.

Dawn

Thanks disneygal58 for the offer.

I have a few DCL postcards that I can share but it will look funny being postmarked from Oklahoma. This is not suitable "Mouse" weather.

Brack,
Springtime and the warm weather is bound to make an appearance sometime soon. I truly wish that I could bottle some of ours up and spread it around.

Keep Thinking Sun,
Dawn

Happy 40 Week Countdown!

Your Dis Friend without a countdown clock,
Dawn

Don't forget to Spring Ahead tonight.

Sports Madness here in Connecticut this weekend and the upcoming week as both our Mens and Womens basketball teams are playing in the Final Four.

Go Huskies!!!

Go Huskies!
I went to Eastern CT in Willimantic and worked at the Student Health Dept. at UCONN, so I feel an affinity to both schools.

Dawn

Disneygal, thanks so much for the postcard offer. When we get closer, I might just take you up on it.
The weather here in TX has been great. I swear this year is crawling by though. It seems as though January will never get here. LOL!
Staci

That is a great idea to send a postcard. I think I will send a postcard to each of the kids, and some big kids too, when we go to WDW in June.

Lisa,
Are you staying on property when you come down in June? Although I love living this close and being able to do day trips to the World - I miss our week long immersion in all things Disney. Check out the Disney Outlet store - every now and then they have some cruiseline items.

Enjoy,
Dawn
