That's when we're going, and I am hearing conflicting reports of deadness/business. I am not worried about closures or refurbs, really.

Just wondering what its like, crowd wise?

Thanks guys!

you know its funny that you say that....I do not know why people say its dead after the 5th...I have gone many many times in the last few years, anywhere from jan. 2-6 and stayed 3 to 5 days at a time....the longest I stayed was 2 years ago from 6-13 and I have to tell you it was really bad crowds every time I go...why do I go during that time? because, my aunt lives in so cal and we go down there for christmas and I cant go until after christmas but I want to see the decorations before they go down and I remember 2 years ago, it being the 11th of jan and it was hot and they still had everything going...i was like what??? I think, imo, that as you get down towards the latter part of your trip it will get better but the first few days will be a nightmare...so just plan on that happening and get going early, take a break and come back when sun goes down...that seems to work for me:confused3

Used to be dead ... now-a-days, I really don't know.

My birthday is on Jan. 9th and have gone many, many times during this period -- from early 80's on. Used to be NO crowds, literally walk on every ride. Now it just seems like the park is always crowded.

With the last day of Christmas entertainment and festivities occurring January 3rd, by the 6th, they will have most of the holiday decorations removed. HMH will be down for removal of the overlay and the Rivers of America may already have started to be drained.

I would bet it SHOULD be a slow time mid-week. However, on the evenings and weekends, because of the local AP explosion, all bets are off.
