Virgin America is quickly running out of money. They had $70 million cash on hand at the end of the third quarter 2012. They burned through $99 million in cash in the last four quarters. They have burned through approximately $600 million since they started up in 2007; rumor is that Richard Branson isn't going to put any more money into the airline.
Unless they get a BIG cash injection, they'll likely be out of business around April Fool's day 2013. Be careful.

Well that sucks. Guess I shouldn't buy a ticket with them then. Will wait until April and see what happens. Loved them but oh well. That flight was the reason I felt I could travel cross country with my kid. Humm. Will rethink the whole thing.

Don't worry about it luv2sleep... I can't foresee the future but if virgin was in fact going out of business as early as APrIL it would be front page news.

Thanks! I sure hope so. I actually have refundable tickets to Orlando for June. I also just got my bonus points for a free RT ticket that I was going to use for this trip. It loos like it will be ok though. Phew!

Anyone book any other 2014 cruises today? I booked Alaska for August and the 2 night to nowhere out of San Diego in May.

The two night to nowhere would be fun! And Alaska is my absolute favorite cruise. I haven't booked any though mainly because hopefully by then I will be starting a brand new job and won't be able to have time off, plus the bf isn't convinced that our next cruise after this one will be dcl... Which is fine I will let the magic onboard persuade him. I don't mind cruising other lines either though, might as well rack up the loyalty points on all of them!

I am going to San Diego this weekend! And Disneyland for a few hours on Monday... Really looking forward to the much needed break.

Last weekend we went to the Walt Disney family museum in San Francisco, it was fascinating!

I'm looking at booking a return flight on Jan. 11th at 1:05pm out of MCO. Would that give us enough time to disembark and take the DCL bus to the airport? We would be checking in using the Onboard Check-in. I thought I read somewhere that flights departing at Noon or later are safe. Thanks for your input! Bonnie

I've heard anything 12:30 or later so that looks good. You can ask to be first off of the ship because you have an early flight. DCL transport should get you there in plenty of time.

How much is the fare? Nonstop, right?

Yes, nonstop from LAX on American Airlines. Price is pretty good I think at $358 rt/pp ($1,739 for 5 of us). It also gets us into MCO on NYE at 4:10pm.

Nice! Do you know where you are staying yet?

YES...The Art of Animation. Nemo Suite.

That's right you mentioned that. I don't know anything about the Art of Animation. Do they only have one Nemo suite or do the have several? I imagine they have other themes because its not called the Nemo hotel, lol.

I have a dvc membership so I'm staying at one of those hotels. I think the one you are staying at is really new. I bet it's nice!

Yes, besides Finding Nemo they have the Little Mermaid and The Lion King Suites.

We are booked on this cruise too. It will be me (Lisa 51), HUBBY (Paul 51), daughter (Kelly 18), and her boyfriend Stephen (18). Looking forward to meeting all of you. I asked to join the FB group.

Welcome babybun! I will add you to the Facebook group tomorrow, in Disneyland today!

San Diego was fun, really made me want to go on a cruise!! We saw the Hal zaandam and the celebrity century in port... I was quite jealous that we were not boarding too! Lol, just got me even more excited for the fantasy! Hope everyone had a nice weekend.

Those of you have cruises with other lines...have any of you tried Princess? I'm thinking of going during fall break here to give it a try. Any experiences to share?

I have been on 3 princess cruises and would gladly sail them again! Very elegant and higher end then ncl, carnival, etc. in my opinion. depending on the sailing there tends to be a more mature crowd. I would expect the dining and service to be similar to Disney (not that I have sailed Disney, just what I am expecting). I think you should give it a try... Sailing other lines is a fun new experience, you should do it!

Ooooh we are not 'elegant' people.I like the relaxed feel of Disney. I dress pretty casually and abhor formal night. Will I feel uncomfortable on Princess?

You'll do fine...most formal nights are getting less formal! I've sailed Princess many times and have one booked in August for the British Isles. One of my favorite lines.
