:wave2: My lovely wife, son 10, daughter 8 and myself. Our first ever experience with disney. A Land & Sea vacation we booked over 22 months out. We are all a little excited about the trip. One day the kids will come down from the ceiling.....Great idea talking to other people before going. Sounds like you are very experienced on cruises. We are rookies...but reading alot of the postings. thanks again skillam

Glad to see the Skillam clan will be joining us on the Wonder. You and the kids will love it. 3 of the 4 boons will be on this trip. DW, DD12 and me. Our first DCL trip was a Land & Sea like the one you are doing and after that we were hooked.

Welcome  TreesyB from 3 :dance3: of the 4boons, let the fun begin. OK I'm a little early but it's nice to have a "wonder"ful trip to look forward to. I can't think of a better way to start the year.

Our group (my parents, my sister & BIL and nephew (nearly 3 by then) and my DW and DD (two weeks before her 2nd birthday on this cruise) and I) will be joining you on this cruise. This will be our (excluding kids) 3rd Disney Cruise. We've been on other lines several times, but keep coming back to Disney as a favorite, even before we've ever had kids on there! This will be our kids' 2nd cruise (we went on NCL over Thanksgiving). They are soooooo spoiled by their grandparents! Look for us at the pool bar, we'll be there.

We will be on the January 4th sailing. First time cruising! We are going to attempt to keep it a secret from our kids (DD9 and DD6).
Can't wait!

I hope you can keep it a secret! Your kids are going to have a great time. We're stocking up on sale clothes that will HOPEFULLY fit our DD then. Toddlers are so hard to gauge sizes!

We've been doing the candy in a cup trick, because DS was asking every day how much longer until the trip. We are half way through the cup. It's interesting how the countdown is visualized just by eating a candy a day. :lmao:

Just over four months to go. Anyone have big plans for the Labor Day holiday?

Hello Everyone,

My husband and I will be joining the group. :love2: We are leaving all the kids at home (26, 22, 13, and 10) as this is our first cruise ever. :cool1: I feel somewhat guilty. I was reading a trip report last night and my 10 year old saw one of the pictures. She said, "I know what that is that's the Disney Cruise" Oppps. I don't quite know how we are going to explain this one yet.

Well at least I have a few months to think up a good excuse.

Now we're building a group! Dallas, I hope you can explain it to your children. Fortuantely, my parents never were able to, so still continue to take us all into our thirties! So, if it isn't too much trouble, don't tell my parents how you got out of taking your children.....

And a first cruise nonetheless. You'll love it. Disney is our favorite cruiseline, even before we were parents. And we don't count among some of the mostfervent disney-lovers out there, but the combination of great food, service, and disney magic seems to come together REAL well on the cruiseline!

So my son picked up a computer game called: "Cruise ship tycoon". I might surprise him and go buy it for him. He's all about the cruise right now! I think he watched the Cruise DVD about 100 times! I eventually had to hide it from him. Will take it out again in November, probably to get him excited.

Almost a month and no news? How is everyone's planning going? Any new members to add? Our 20 month old daughter is getting bigger by the day. I think she will really enjoy the cruise, more so than when she was 10 months old on our last one!

Does everyone have their passports already. Late planner here. I haven't even applied yet. :guilty:

I am just curious about the supposed January 8th extension and has it been finalized and is it applicable to sea travel. Does anyone have any information from an official source? :smooth:

Hi all. I'm thinking of joining you. It would be myself and my 5 year old daughter. We just got back from an August 20th 4 nighter on the Wonder and can't wait to go again. We don't have passports and we told by Disney that we didn't need them for the Jan 4th trip, because of the dates. As long as we weren't getting off the ship at any foreign port on the 6th, it was okay. So wish me luck, Despite what the DCL lady said on the phone, I'm going to go ahead and try to get them in time anyway. The last cruise we had a cat 5. This one, I think we may have to do whatever is available as we will be most likely booking last minute. But I wanted to check out the thread and see who's going.
Take care all and happy planning!!
Elisa and Ireland (age 5)

Welcome aboard Castle (maybe at least!)! We sent off for Isabelle's passport before DW went back to school, and got it in around 4 weeks. I think if you go ahead and apply ASAP, the delay shouldn't be all that long. I think they normally say 6-8 weeks, and even at that you have plenty of time.

The Dougherty's will be traveling on the Jan 4 th Wonder as well. It will be our first Disney Cruise and we are very excited. We are Vacation club members and will be staying at the BCV before the cruise. We will be traveling with our DS 18, DS 14 and DD 12. Can't wait to be there. I think Castatway Cay has to be much nicer in January that Missouri in Jan!

Welcome Dougherty's! You should love the cruise. Anyone that loves Disney enough to be a DVC member will surely love Disney's spin on cruising. Careful - its addicting! I'd take your Missouri in January over my Northern Indiana anytime though!
