Sounds like we are all excited and counting down the days!! I think it will be a great trip!

Is this everyone's first Disney cruise? I think I saw someone that has cruised before didn't I? It's all new to DH & I and I can't wait.

Yes, it's our first DISNEY cruise too!!!!!!

I can't figure out the fish extenders either so I'm just going with magnets for the door.

It's our first, too, and I am SO convinced that we are gonna be hooked that I signed up for and received our Disney Visa so I can start accumulating Dream Dollars for our next one! Hope to do a "dummy booking" onboard for a 2012 Dream cruise! It's me, DH, and DS9 and DD5.

I've read about the FE but don't think we're gonna do that this time around. I am too overwhelmed with reading/researching everything else right now, and trying to not spend any more $ than absolutely necessary. Just gonna do some door magnets this time.

And I am SO technologically impaired that I can't even figure out how to put any kind of cruise clock/countdown in my signature, and if I want to know how long we have, I have to look at somebody else's!! Can anybody tell me how to do that?? Step by step?? I read instructions somewhere but it didn't work for me!

Looking forward to this soooooooooo much!!!

OK, I just went to that website, but I couldn't find ANYTHING cruise-related?? I really like YOUR ticker with the DCL logo! Any other suggestions/websites you can point me to? TIA!!

OK, I did some more digging around, and I think I did it! This is my first post trying it out, so I am HOPING that my new ticker is now gonna be in my siggie! Oh goodie, now I can keep better track of how long! (Except that I, too, wanna know how many more "go to sleeps" that is!!)

LB - you are a funny person!!! I obssessed over that also! I looked again at mine and it is from "**************" - that should show you many more sleeps you have.

I want to add another one to see how many more sleeps until I can book Palo!! LOLOLOL!!!

Hey, I didn't know about Mickeypath.......they have some cute banners there. I finally figured out (about an hour later) how to do a rotating banner. Gotta tell ya though, it was a toss up between the days count down or the rotating banner. The rotating one won out. LOL!

Disney got their 4/3 promo back on for January.......upgraded us from POFQ to the Poly before our cruise. So excited!!!!

We are at the 4 month mark today!

OK, for one thing, I did NOT need more choices! I was happy with mine until I saw some of the ones to choose from on that mickeypath site! Forget it, I'm sticking with what I've got. I'll do a new one as soon as we get back and I have made my on-board booking for our next one!!

For another, how come you're at the 4 month mark and I'm not?! I'm a day behind!

And I forgot to do the quote thing for the FE, but I'm gonna have to respectfully decline on that one... I've got TOOOOOOO much else to think about right now!!

lbuher, I have no idea why my countdown clock & yours are different. I just put in the time of Jan. 31, 2010 and the countdown came up. That's weird!

You're right though, about the choices........way toooo many!

I'm going on this cruise as well. My mom noticed the Kids Sail Free offer, called me up at college, and I said "yes let's do it". I will be traveling with my mom (obviously), and my little brother (who will be 10). This will be my 3rd Disney Cruise, but my first Disney Cruise has an adult. The other two cruises I went on were when I was under 18 years old. I'm 21 now so I'll get to experience the Adult activities on the ship for the first time. I haven't been on a Disney Cruise for 3 years so I am excited to get back on the ship come the end of January 2010. Also, my birthday is on February 10th. Even though I won't be on the ship on my birthday, I consider this cruise a nice early birthday present.

By the way, I just filled out my Passport application last week. Hopefully the Passport gets to me in time for the cruise.

About the Passport.... there was a recent thread on the board here about how a passport really isn't necessary - that a birth certificate is perfectly acceptable. I'm sure yours will come back in time, but if it makes you feel better, it won't be a big deal if it doesn't!

I sure wish I had known that before I got passport cards for my kids. Our TA made it sound like we really needed to have them (that was before I found this board!!) That was a waste of money- could've used that for spending money!

I have to apply for passports for my children as well. Their passports expired last month and we can NOT travel from Canada to the US without them. I have already started the paper work but I guess I should really get the process going since the travel date is getting close now.

I am surprised that you can leave the US and not need a passport to re-enter. We used to be able to use a driver's license for a travel doc too, ........but not anymore.

Hopefully the link will work for you. We also booked a Marriott property to use points, but we didn't want to use THAT many, so we are staying at the Fairfield Inns and Suites in Titusville. Not REALLY close to the port, and we'll still have to pay for parking, but it's only a cat 2 (and we needed two rooms, since my in-laws are going with us - don't even think I've mentioned that yet!!)

My DD is too young, I think, for the online chat thing, and probably too young for your DD, too. But how old is your son? I think his age was left off your post? My DS is 9, and at this point, I'm really not too sure how sociable he's gonna be with other kids on the cruise. Mainly because my in-laws are gonna be with us, and my DS is typically stuck like velcro to my FIL!! But he still might be interested in "meeting" some other kids ahead of time!

OK, sorry, meant to try the "multi-quote" thing and try to respond to both posts with one reply, but it didn't work out. Sorry for the double-post back-to-back!

ANYWAY, I can totally relate to the feeling overwhelmed at this point! I'm thinking the FE thing is too much for this first cruise and might be something that we can do the next time. And yes, I'm so sure there's gonna be a next time, that I'm already trying to accumulate as many Dream Dollars as possible on our brand new Disney Visa - all for the purpose of the next one! We do plan to make a dummy booking onboard - probably for sometime in 2011 that we will eventually move to a 2012 booking on the Dream. That's the plan, anyway!

Congrats on your cruise without your kids, but just out of curiosity, what made you decide to do a first Disney one without kids?
