January 3, 2011 - 5 night Bahamas Sailing

I am not sure how much this has been discussed but do we know for certain if this cruise has a formal night or not? Because it is on the magic it seems there are some differences than a wonder 5 night. On another thread here is something that has been discussed about a magic 5 day dd:

Yes, there was a formal night on the 5 night cruise on the Magic. There was no semi-formal night. We had 3 cruise casual nights, formal night and Pirate Night. I did not come across semi-formal night until my 7 night Western Caribbean in October 2009.

Has anyone called Disney to know for sure if we have a formal night or not? This is a surprise cruise for the kids - packing regular clothes is easy for "cruise casual" because we are coming from cold weather (meaning we have to have some pants) to warm weather BUT to throw formal wear in will take a little more tricks on my part!

OK- I just called Disney and here is what they said:

the only night she has down that is confirmed (all others are TBA) is that night 3 is FORMAL night!

Ok so now I have to throw this into the mix (I know we do not have to dress up but we like to :) )

Has anyone confirmed or denied christmas decorations? I just hope they are all up or all down. I think it would be depressing to watch them slowly take them down.

Hi. We just booked a couple weeks back. This will be our (wife and me) winter get-away this year. The kids are staying home this time..... We're first seating and have a GTY 11. We're hoping for a glimpse of the Dream and a 5k on Castaway cay each day.

We went on a Christmas cruise a few years back and they were taking the Christmas decorations down the night before we disembarked - which was the 27th. I don't know their plan for this cruise, but things like that do not happen slow. They will be taken down overnight.

Welcome to the cruise. Let me know if you and your wife are interested in participating in the FE.

Hi...i'm new to cruising...but reading over DIS :surfweb:...I have noticed people mentioning about a Tea with WENDY or a Tea with ALICE. Will this tea happen on this cruise ? And also will there be any character breakfast option for this cruise?

I do not doubt you, but I do doubt DCL/the person you talked to. Night 3 is Nassau, which is almost always Pirate night??? Maybe someone else shold call and confirm and see if they get a different answer? I think I will have DH e-mail DCL.................

Curious if anyone knows if the dining rotation arrangements have been made yet? :)Kim

I requested the APPLA rotation and will be swapping out night 5 for Palo dinner at 6pm since we couldn't get brunch............Won't find out the rotation until we get our KTTW cards at the port :thumbsup2

My gut tells me that they will be taken down before our cruise...

Hi Jeff - I am curious to know how the 12 night northern european capitals cruise was?? That looked awesome!!!

I requested the same rotation but now I can't remember why! I do not like animator's palate but was thinking formal night would be night 4 and I wanted to be in Lumiere's. Am I crazy?

I've emailed my TA and asked her about formal night.

It was incredible! I highly recommend the itinerary. We spent a day in Canterbury and a day in Dover pre-cruise and then two days in London post. We're fortunate that our girls are the ages they are (23, 17, 15) and that they all love to travel. One loved Norway (and still talks about it), One loved Berlin and one loved St. Petersburg. My wife and I both loved St. Petersburg. We did the Royal Cinderella Ball at Catherine's palace and I took the opportunity to dance with each of them.... I danced with all my daughters and my wife in Catherine's Royal Place... how many dad's can say that?
Thank-you DCL

I emailed DCL a few days ago and received this response from them:

"At this time the schedule for removing the decorations has not been
announced."

It seems that much about this cruise is undecided! I suppose it has something to do with a comment that I read somewhere on these boards, that this cruise used to be a longer one and then was broken up into two shorter cruises. Is that true?

See you all soon!

I just received an email back from my TA. Formal night is the 6th.... Thursday.

I was kind of hoping it would be on the Friday (day 5). We have Plao booked for the Friday and was hoping to only bring one set of dressy outfits. Now I have to bring something for 2 nights. :headache:

Does anyone know if Pirate night is on Wed. ? I was assuming it was because it is our Nassau day but then I was wrong in assuming formal day was our sea day.

I was also told the 6th Thursday eve) back in September. I pleased there is a formal as I love to dress up.
Also we decided not to do Palo this time, as we have just been. Having said that if a Brunch opening came up, I would do that. :thumbsup2

My TA asked about each night. Disney said that their is not a formal night on our cruise, that the Pirate night was Thursday night. It will be interesting to see what is planned for each night.:grouphug:
The TA also said they told her they would not have any decorations up.

OK, this is just confusing. So I guess we still don't know.
