Cell phones???
How do they work on the cruise ship??? Does texting work?? Is it crazy expensive?? Just trying to decide if it is worth it add a package to my cell phone. What are others doing????

I contacted our provider (US Cellular) and the prices for calling using the on-ship cell signal are not awful. It will work to make a quick call if needed. The prices on the islands were much higher though.

We are still 16 more sleeps until we leave. Wish it was earlier!! Just went through my oldest ds's shorts and golf shirts. Not sure if he has enough but it is going to have to do. How many pairs of pants are you packing for you son???

Well he will be wearing jeans on the way down on the plane and probably be wearing the same ones on the back. Then he will have his suit pants for formal and semi formal. We just bought one pair of docker type pants for the rest of the nights. He will change for dinner and then back again after so they will keep. If he doesn't spill something on them. If this happens I guess he will go back to his suit pants. The rest of the time will be shorts.

I have learned not to over pack. We bought three polo type shirts too to wear with the causal pants. They two will be switched out. If all fails I will wash but never had to before.

Chances are he will miss at least one dinner....and stay with the club or eat all day and won't want dinner. That has happened before but he sat with us anyway.

Yup...2 weeks from tonight we will be starting our drive to FL!! We're planning on starting about 1am, so hopefully we can get a little sleep before hand and the kids will sleep till morning to give us a little less time in the car while they're awake!!

Cross my fingers for good weather for your driving. I mentioned driving to hubby instead of flying. He did too many family vacations to FL driving from MI. He said no way. lol we are flying non stop on Friday the 28th.

Good Evening - crazy evening - Spencer had a Volley ball tourney after school from 345 to 6pm - and then we had to race to a quick meal and to the rink for a Hockey game at 7pm. Neither went well for the teams but SPencer played well. he doesnt get too worried about winning or losing - wants to win but doesnt get upset.

They are off to bed now so I can get caught up on work stuff and of course DIS boards.

I have time in th evenings to do my FE gifts but decided that Spencer and Avery woudl probably like to do them with me as they will probably give them out. I like to include them in things like this. So instead I am focusing on booking my Buffalo hotel as I havent done that yet.

2 weeks tonight - we will be in the hotel in Buffalo relaxing and enjoying the knowledge that I am on vacation!!!!!

We are driving from Syracuse. We are leaving @130 in afternoon so I can get in most of my workday. I never had any trouble traveling with my kids. It didn't matter what time of day we traveled the were asleep within a half hour.

What hotel are people staying at in Buffalo? I found a rate of $70/night and thought it included parking......but i called to double check and it includes the overight parking. They want another $50 for 2 weeks of parking.

The Buffalo airport will cost be $90 for my 12 days of parking so the hotel is still a better deal but I thought I would see what other deals are out there

Ok I am all booked with the rodeway inn it is $79.57 with tax. It is only 14 days parking thru the hotel but I only need 9, so I am good.

I forget exactly how far I think like 2miles..No have never stayed but for a few hrs sleep, I am not too bothered...we have stayed at some dumps during hockey tournaments... This one includes breakfast too, but I dont eat breakfast anyway.... I only drink tea so I dont care but you have your kids so that is a must.

Once stayed at a hotel the night before but can't remember which one. It was right across the street. Our flight was really early and they gave us a bagged breakfast to take to the airport. We that thought that was cool. But that was a long time ago and you wouldn't get the bag though security any more with the orange juice bottle.

My son is going snowboarding tonight with the school , I told him not to break anything. He is pretty accident prone this year.

We have done the park and fly most times, but this time since it is just us and we were going to leave at 5am, we figured might as well leave when dh gets home from work and just stay, parking will cost pretty much the same anyway....I'm glad it is like starting your vacation a day earlier.......

Darn, went to Costco last nigth instead of Marks Work Warehouse to get my son's pants. No change room....means I have to go back tomorrow and exchange the size. They do not fit like jeans so he has to go up a size.

Still haven't tried on my clothes yet, my everyday should be fine , worried about my dressy clothes. I gained weighted since the last time I had to wear them I just know it. I do know my new formal dress will fit. Maybe I can wear that both nights if something else doesnt' fit.

We ended up deciding to drive as well. Are you guys taking 75 down? I think we're leaving Wed as soon as dh is done at work. I'm hoping we can basically drive straight through, but we'll see. I'm just hoping for little snow along the way!

I have a boy and a girl, otherwise I'd be matching mine all the time.

I can still get my daughter's stuff to coordinate there too! She has a skort from the same fabric/pattern as the boys shorts!!! I don't do it much - usually just Christmas and a matching 4th of July type outfit for the summer and a different coordinating outfit for the fall....it is still fun though!!!
