January 29, 2011 - 7 Day Eastern - WOOHOO!!

Ok I forget where you live...East of me I think...?? We are getting snow but it is not staying...thank god...it is freezing though....:scared1:

Just East of Toronto....but have to head to Cambridge on the weekend so hope the weather holds out.

Just found out my cousin's son committed suicide , he was only 17. His memorial is on Sat. :sad1: This is terrible but even worse just before Chirstmas. I know because I lost my first husband Dec 14, 1992 and Christmas has never been the same for me , even with the kids.

We are also hoping you find the passport. I'm glad that you didn't wait until the week before trip to get them together.

Thats what I kept thinking - can you imagine if it was the day before we left....OMG:confused3:confused3

Thank God that Disney asked for that info which made me look to verify the info was correct.

I know how frustrating it is. The baby still needed his passport and my oldest son's expires in January. So, hubby had an afternoon off. We load up everyone, pull DS out of school early so we can get to the passport office. When we arrive, the wait is over an hour. DD is not feeling well and lying on the floor, baby is crying because he is hungry, and it was overly warm in the room. We get to the front of the line. I had copies of everything needed, including copies of DH passport as well as his passport on me to use as ID. That is when I find out the DH passport expired last June. He travels overseas all of the time, but uses an official passport, so I didn't check his. Fine I say, just give the lady your military ID and we will pay for the copies of that. Then DH explains that he LEFT his military ID in his uniform pocket with his badge. In his defense he does have to use it to log on to the computers. Great I say, give her your drivers license then. Turns out that was with his badge too. I was SO MAD. :mad:We leave without passports.

Round 2 of passports he showed up 45 minutes late. But we did find a different post office with no wait. Anyway, the kids have their passports, but DH still has not sent in his application for a renewal of his tourist one. It is still on the kitchen counter. I am not too worried, because he can use his official passport if needed. But he is a grown-up and I figure I take care of 4/5 of the family - he can handle 1/5.:rotfl:

But I feel your pain. At least you have plenty of time to sort it all out!! Our passports arrived less than 2 weeks after we submitted the applications and that is with the Thanksgiving holiday thrown in!!

didnt anyone tell you that a husband is more of a kid than the real kids. I feel the same way that they shoudl be able to take care of things but it doesnt quite work out that way

I am so sorry to hear about your cousin's son.....its so hard when you hear a 17 year old kid who has their whole life ahead of them is unable to see through the difficulty of adolescence.

And I am sorry that you lost your first husband. That kind of loss is hard to ever get over.

Passport Update:

so last night we did our final look.......we ended the night with the acceptance that we would need to start the process of replacing the birth certificate and passport!

But Today when the "BETTER HALF" got home from work, was upstairs and almost tripped over a Gym Bag. The Gym Bag had not been used in several weeks. Somewhere a Bell Rang.....looked inside the Bag and there was the Passport and Birth Certificate AND the Health Card.:banana:

The "I know I placed it on the Kitchen Counter" speech was proven to be false.

So I am happy to say that my little pre-trip Traume is over.:worship::worship:

Thanks for all the support!:grouphug:

A few people said that they were trying to lose weight before the trip.....I thought I would set up a little tracker to keep track of all the great success we are having. Let me know your info and I can add you to the list.

Oh that is so sad!!! I have had 2 friends committ suicide, one was acutally my friends son 19 and the other my friends husband 39...the really ironic thing is that I went to both of their funerals in Keswick.....they were both from here but moved there. I have a friend in Cambridge, she has boys about that age...so very sad. Sorry about your first husband too.....:sad1: Death is awful but some reason being around Christmas seems to make it even more awful. :grouphug:

So very sorry to hear this. My cousin committed suicide last year. The ripple effect is so huge. I agree that having it happen before Christmas is too much to handle. In our city, one of the Senator's coaches daughter committed suicide at 14 just a few weeks ago. It is a terrible tragedy. I am so sorry about the loss of your first husband. My prayers are with you and your cousins family. I'm sure Christmas is hard for you still. :littleangel:
