January 29, 2011 - 7 Day Eastern - WOOHOO!!

Hi all!!!

TifffanyD & I just got back from our 7-Night Western a few hours ago. We had a blast, and have 2 new DCL converts as well. We took my parents on their first Disney Cruise (2nd over all), and they really enjoyed it. We even got them to stop by my wife's favorite shop on the ship...the Future Bookings desk. We had really nice weather through most of the week...Key West was a bit overcast and had a few moments of isolated sprinkles. Cozumel & Grand Cayman were beautiful, but yesterday in Castaway Cay the winds picked up and the temps dropped quite a bit. It also made the seas last night quite choppy.

I was just going through all of the posts that I missed over the past week, and would like to welcome all the new posters. It was unfortunate that we missed our booking windows for Palo events and excursions, but we're willing to miss the booking window for being on a cruise. We were thinking of just skipping Palo on this trip anyway...we had a Dinner, Brunch and High Tea this time, and we think we'd like to try to keep some spending down on this upcoming trip because we just added on points to our DVC Membership at Aulani.

We will have more to report over the coming days and weeks, but I just wanted to check in on everthing here. I can't believe that this cruise is coming up so quickly. We really enjoyed our first 7-Night on DCL and look forward to our next one!

Don't forget to adjust your clocks before bed tonight!
I'm working the overnight shift so they're getting a free hour out of me. :scared1: Part of me is hoping the person coming on in the morning forgets to set their clock back and shows up after my 8 hours instead of 9. :P
:lmao: I don't think that will happen tho. ;)

Sounds like you had a great time! There was still lots of Palo dinners left earlier this week and one brunch, so even though you missed windows you still may be able to grab something!

Was the parasailing canceled on Castaway Cay? I really hope it is not for our cruise as the kids are really looking forward to it. It was cancelled on our cruise with them 2 years ago, but when DH and I went last November it was beautiful weather and we were able to parasail. The kids are jealous so I really hope they can experience this time!

My hubby is working night shift tonight too , so he gets to work that extra hour too. As if just working night shift isn't enough....

Welcome to all the new people checking in.

Schimj-- welcome home. Glad you had a great time. We too are not doing Palo. The normal dining is enough for us. Heck when you don't have to cook and clean all week I will take that.

We have paid off our trip too , actually last time our dollar was close to yours. Now we are just exchanging money and putting it away for our trip with a U.S account.

Darn extra hour sleep and I missed it because I forgot to change my alarm clock by the bed. I didn't set it but when I looked it said it was after 9 and hubby was just coming in the door. Asked why he was late he said he isn't it is only 8 :headache:

Well I'm up now.... no sense going back to bed, church this morning anyway.

Was the parasailing canceled on Castaway Cay?

Yes, unfortunately due to the conditions, all 3rd party excursions that take place past the edge of Castaway Cay's lagoon were canceled. I hope that you're able to do it on your trip.

We have tried four times to parasail at Castaway Cay and they all have been cancelled. We will try again this trip.

party:party:party:I am very thankful for the extra sleep we got today.:headache:
My DFamily surprised my DH and I with a surpriseparty: Anniversary Party last night.
The theme was Disney so it got me OH SO more excited about the cruise. My DDad went to the travel agency and borrowed all the Disney life size props of Disney Characters to decorate the room. Total suprise as I was very clear that I did not want the BIG party but glad:yay: that now that we did have one. It was great to see people that I had not seen in years.

4 times WOW! We will definately hope that this time will be your lucky trip! It was so much fun, I was definately scared when I watched the first group as it was so high! I am so glad I tried it and it was not at all scary.

Schimj- I forgot to ask did they do anything on board showing the Dream and it moving from the building last Saturday? The new pictures of the Dream look amazing.

Yeah I am keeping my fingers crossed. It was always too windy. I think the one time did resume in the afternoon but it was all booked up. It is my husband and son that want to go , me not so much.

DisneySilver-- HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!! What a great surprise for you!!

I'm having one of those days were everything is going wrong. I need a holiday now....

Sooo what is everyone doing for excursions? I just booked a couple today - the island tour that goes to the french capital of st maarten and the little skyline ride in st thomas. Any thoughts on these?

I would like some input too please. We have no idea if we will book excursions or which ones. Know we want to go to the beaches & swim...
