January 28, 2012-do you believe in MAGIC?

Anyone wanting to join the FE, email me at angiebales@gmail.com, and I'll share the document with you in Googledocs. I was thinking of capping the FE group at one month out for the sake of preparation (so, say...Dec. 28). At that point, I'll send out a floor plan with all participants' rooms marked to make delivery a little easier. Right now, I think we have a manageable group size, but if it gets too big, we can talk about splitting. Anyone interested in a meetup on upon embarkation?

Dec 28th sounds good to me, along with the meetup. As for the floorplan, you are good!

I have some news!!!
My DFH and I decided instead of getting married in Texas we are going to get married on cruise! We are getting married on St Thomas!
I am so excited and happy right now!
:dance3::dance3::dance3:

Congrats!!!

Just wanted to say hi to some of our cruisemates! This will be our first DCL cruise and I CANNOT WAIT! We will be traveling with our 3 year old son. Does anyone have any advice for the most age appropriate shore excursions in St. Maarten and St. Thomas? Also where is the link or where do I go to sign up for the FE? Thanks in advance!!!

:welcome:

Also--Just wanted to let everyone know that the new costumes are in at the Bibbidibobbidiboutique and at the online store, and are currently 20% off, with free shipping! :cool1: I just got Cinderella and Belle, with tiaras and light up shoes to match for WAY less than I could get them at the Bibbidibobbidiboutique...which, by the way, I am considering for either the day before sailing or the day we get off. Anyone else considering this?

I think capping the list on Dec. 28 is a good idea. I also think the meet for our group is a good idea. Thanks for heading this up Angie! :thumbsup2

You ROCK Angie! Thank you for organizing all this! I think capping it off at a month out is a great idea. So is the meet up! And the floor plan? Genius! My last cruise I spent a loooong time getting lost in the hallways looking for FEs!:rotfl:

Thanks for being so gracious, guys...I didn't really DO anything but create a document for YOU to edit your info into. I just thought it would be easier that way than micromanaging it. And, too, this way you can just print off your own copies whenever you wish.

I've been super busy lately, but have been lurking. I'm excited to see things "picking up!" I keep telling myself that once the fall semester starts (I teach college), it's all down hill from there. Jan. 28th will be here in no time. :yay:

In the past couple of months, I've twice seen air fare down to around $250 out of Shreveport, which is awesome. How far out do you guys typically book your flights? I couldn't book when I saw those awesome fares, because travel had to be completed by Nov. 11, 2011. I feel pretty certain that I'll see those fares offered again between now and January, would you agree?

I'm really glad that you set up the document. Other than surfing the web and checking my email, I am pretty computer illiterate. I wouldn't have a clue about how to set that up.:confused3

I booked our flights already. I bought the tickets July 26, the day after Southwest's schedule opened up until March 9. I wanted to make sure I got the flights I wanted before they either sold out or the price increased. Also, now the price of my airfare can be calculated into my trip insurance. It's one less thing I have to think about doing.

What college classes do you teach, Angie?

We are also holding off on booking airfare and waiting for a sale for our dates:rolleyes1 As for when we book, it depends on the price I find, usually 4-5 months out. We booked 8 months out on our last cruise because I found a fare for $247 each for out trip to LA and from Seattle. After that, the price kept going up up up.........I usually search on Tues and Wed :surfweb:hoping to find a good deal, nothing so far. The cheapest is $217 with Delta, although we get the first bag free, something to consider. Maybe we could get a good sale, that would be a great Christmas present!

What college classes do you teach, Angie?

I'm a former elementary teacher. I teach education classes. I place student teachers and supervise their field experience. I've also taught some service learning and am on tap to teach educational psych in the fall, but we'll see.

Regarding air fare...like I said, I've seen some deals out of Shreveport, but travel had to be completed by Nov. 2011. I am still holding out for another fare sale that will have extended travel dates...otherwise, I guess we'll be driving to Dallas and flying out from there. We'll see. At this point, I'd drive it if I had to...I just want ON THE BOAT.

I checked Priceline and Airtran. They both had the same price. From Flint, Michigan it was $220 per person/ round trip. That seems to be about what I've paid for each of our other trips to Orlando.

Hello everyone! I know that I have not posted in a long time, we have had some excitement in our little family. Our new little baby was born on July 8. He was 4 weeks premature. I had to have an emergency C Section, he had to go to the neonatal intensive care unit for 5 days. We are at home now and are very happy and healthy. He was 6 lbs 14 oz!!

I also have been recovering and had a few complications.. Bronchitis, infection and anemia.. But now I am finally on the road to recovery.

We booked our airfare a couple of days ago when Southwest opened up the dates for our cruise. We are flying from Jackson, Ms to Orlando on Jan 23rd and back on the Saturday that the cruise ends,.

We are staying at the Hilton Grand Vacation Club Seaworld on International Drive for our Pre-cruise stay. We want to go to Seaworld and Universal and do some shopping. Maybe I can talk DH into going to Magic Kingdom for a day, but I seriously doubt it bc we have already spent 10 days there this year:)

We would like to rent a car to drop at Port Canaveral prior to sailing.

What rate did you get out of Jackson? I think we discussed this once before. Jackson is about 3 1/2 hours east of us, Dallas is about 3 hours west. Although Jackson would definitely be easier to deal with than DFW, I can get out of DFW for around $154 each. Decisions, decisions!

Hello all!
I've been reading the boards and looking forward to the next few months of preparation and anticipation!

:welcome: little one!!! Congratulations! We are so happy for you, enjoy your time as they grow up so fast. My kids are 8 and 13, went by too fast. Hope you get to feeling better soon. Take care!

We book our flights today:cool1: So now the cruise seems real and within our grasp! :cool1: We were able to use skymiles and got a great price. Now, if we could just find a hotel for the night before and after the cruise...........I'm still working on that. Maybe WDW will come out with some great rates on rooms at:tink:POR............just wishing........hoping...........

YAY!!!!!! After looking over our budget last night, I decided that we can afford to stay at Disney for two days before AND three days after our cruise if we stay at a value resort! :cool1: I am soooo excited!!! :woohoo::yay:
