January 25, 2009 on the WONDER

Yeah packing a little of everything.. capri's for me and dresses for the girls. A light sweater for me in the AC i get very cold if it is on in the dining? I'm usually cold!! I hate to bring my coat what does everyone else think? We do have a rental van now for the week so can leave the coat in there in case we do need it at WDW! :wizard:

Sounds like everyone is growing-- we are going to check everything and how it fits before we put it in the suitcase now for sure! :laundy:

Hi guys! Sorry it has been so long, but with the holidays and work we have been swamped! We could deliver on the first day. That will give us a chance to see the ship and lighten our carry on suitcase that day! Hope everyone had a great holiday. Hoping for our room to be posted soon!:goodvibes

We've learned to pack a little of everything. One year we went to WDW and it was Cold. We had to go to walmart to buy warm clothes (Jeans, Jackets, etc.). The Cruise was Cold too. Then the next time, we read the forecasts and it said it would be cold. We get there and it was hot. So we now pack for both seasons.

We can do the first day too.

Ok, looks like I will do day 4! :)

We just need Ganandem & Mintee to get their room assignments and our FE list is done! :yay: Here's hoping for an upgrade! :wizard: :wizard:

Here it is in stateroom order to make it easier when delivering (higher to lower decks, forward to aft):

8502 - tammythetwinsmom - 5 people (DDtwins 7, DD 5) (day 2 - Monday)
8534 - samily - 5 people (DD 11, DS 7, DS 4) (day 4 - Wed.)
8076 - pumba's dad - 4 people (DD 12, DS 14) (day 1 - Sun.)
7070 - jennyh2829 - 3 people (DD 8) (day 2 - Monday)
6550 - melsherard - 4 people (2 DD's 7 & 10) (day 3 - Tues.)
???? - ganandem - 4 people (DD 7, DS 10) (day 1 - Sun.)
???? - mintee - 4 people (DDtwins 6) (day 3 - Tues.)

We usually pack mostly for warm weather with a couple of things for cooler days. Last year the day before and the day of embarkation were cool - never stops the kids though - I have pics of the first day & the Mickey pool was full of kids and all the adults around it are in long pants and sweatshirts!

Hey all...did you see this?

Disney Cruise Line is debuting Disney Digital 3-D, an enhanced movie viewing experience that includes the use of lasers, fog, streamers and special lighting effects in the on-board theater.

The Disney 3-D system is being added to the Walt Disney Theatre and Buena Vista Theatre aboard the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder cruise ships. The shows will be introduced on the Nov. 20 sailing of the Wonder and the Dec. 6 sailing of the Magic.

The system pairs 3-D digital films from Walt Disney Co. with special effects. The first movie to be shown is Bolt.

My family was so excited to open the package from Ramon yesterday. The nametags are so much more than we expected! Thank you so much for your time and effort on these Ramon. We can't wait to wear them!:goodvibes

Haven't had much time to read or post lately, but just realized that I never thanked Ramon for the name tags. They are terrific! I certainly hope that everyone had a very Merry Christmas and I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year! I can't believe how close we are to the cruise. Time has gone by so fast! I also have a birthday party to get through for my DD's 11th birthday on Jan 10. We are taking her and few friends to an indoor water park near where we live! Can't wait to see everyone on the cruise!!!:woohoo:

Jenny, you're welcome - my Mom would be proud - she's the queen of keeping lists and organization! Unfortunately not a whole lot of that rubbed off on me! lol

Mintee, that's cool on the 3D :3dglasses - we haven't been to any movies in quite a while so the kids will have a chance to catch up on them if they want. We haven't seen HSM3, Bolt or Bedtime Stories. I don't think we've even saw Wall-E yet! I'll have to be careful that they don't spend the whole time at the movies! :headache:

Pskorf - Have a fun party - we have a Coco Key indoor water park about 1 hour away from us that we went to for my DS's bday (not a party, just the family) & the kids loved it! (heck, so did me & DH!). Must be cool to be there in the middle of winter!

Mickeywho from the 1/22 cruise prior to us, posted on my other meets board that they finally got assigned their stateroom - shouldn't be long now for you guys to get yours :wizard:

Happy New Year!

Question: IF my family (7) wants to do the stingray adven. on CC would the PIL just be able to watch or would they have to pay to be where we are? They don't want to get in the water....

Happy New Year everyone!!

Jenny, good question - I booked the same thing for DH & my 2 older kids, but was hoping me & my youngest could stay on the beach & watch them too...

Happy New Year everyone...

I read somewhere that they do allow 1 person to go along unpaid and take pictures. I am counting on this, as I have not booked myself for the encounter, just my family. I will try to find that thread...

Greetings! I have been snooping on you guys for quite a while and I thought I ought to say "hello" before the cruise! We are sooooo looking forward to our first Disney Cruise with DD 7 and DS 5. We booked the cruise last Jan, but waited until Christmas to reveal our plans. The kids have not stopped watching the planning DVD and just this morning DS corrected my pronunciation of "Palo"! I also noticed that "mintee" is from Charlotte, NC. Perhaps we're neighbors! I can't remember - are you all planning a meet and greet? I know the kids are looking forward to making some new friends. DH and I are looking forward to Serenity Bay!!! Happy New Year!!!

Hello 2sillygooses! We are planning on meeting at the mickey pool on the first afternoon... I also have a dd7, so maybe they will become friends:)

Welcome!

Welcome 2sillygooses (love the name by the way!)! We have a lot of little girls in your DD's age range in our meets group! My DS's (4 & 7) will be glad to have another little boy -lol

The kids have been posting to get to know each other a little before the cruise, if your kids want to check it out here:

http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1890384

We are meeting at the Mickey pool at 2pm on embarkation day - hope to see you there!

Welcome!! I told my girls about another girl and they are excited! My twins are 7 and then I have a 5 year old but they are all inseperable usually! My Kaitlin has everyone's names memorized! We are super excited!

Hi Guys, for anyone who wanted to fly, and haven't booked their flights yet, Southwest just started a big sale... really good prices to Orlando...

Hi everyone! Just wondering if I should be nervous that I do not have a room assignment yet. I thought that 30 days out was the norm, but we are at 23 days out. If anyone has any experience with this please let me know.

Hi guys
We finally got our room number...it wasnt on this am, but I went to check my dinner reservations at Palo...and it was just posted at 10:30

We didnt get an upgrade either really...Cat 11 :( room 6607. I was hopeful since they made us wait so long and the people that are coming with us and whose reservations are linked with ours have a balcony, but that is ok! At least we have a room number!!

Thanks Melissa, I just checked and was able to get the earlier flight going home that we wanted - it hadn't been available for all of us at the lower price but now it is, so I switched! :woohoo:

Mintee, glad you got your assignment - ganandem it should be any day!

We should be getting our docs any day now!

OK-
So now I am officially confused. We now have a room # and it states that it is a Cat. 12 which we booked GTY. The only problem is that when I looked up that room #, it is definitely a Cat 9. They gave us 2046. Am I looking at the wrong diagram or do they have the Cat. wrong? :goodvibes We are okay with both, but would love for them to be mistaken on the Cat!!!
