January 24-28, 2010 -- Wonder

2pm at the Mickey pool sounds perfect for us too! Has anyone else been stalking Accuweather daily to try to predict the weather? Right now we are departing Port Canaveral on an 80 degree day!:goodvibes Hopefully Accuweather earns it name!

I have been watching the temps daily!! I also looked up Nassau on Accuweather and it has been running in the high 70s, low 80s! While I am sure that some can beat our daily highs here in Nashville, it has not been above freezing since before Christmas. The 70s are going to feel good! :woohoo:

We are getting pretty excited, too. But not doing anything special for clothing. My teen boys will only wear their usual stuff, so they are easy. DD (5 years) is more fun to dress. :princess: I will put in some priate-y stuff, but not sure anyone will use it for pirate night.

Just checked Nassau's weather (accuweather.com), it says 83 for the day we will be there.

Travelin'Gal--our DD is adopted--it's the best club to be in! Our sweety is from China. It will be easy to spot us. ;)

Question: When we are in Nassau, can we stay on the ship? Will the teen and kid places be opened? I know in Castaway Cay we all get off. Thanks!

princess: Tyring that princess thing again.

Susan - we are going to adopt though the local foster system. If we ever get a placement anyway. sigh. We got our homestudy done and our license for foster on Dec 2. Not a single call yet. :sad1: (We did say we'd take temporary placements while waiting for a little girl who was available for adoption)
Our homestudy was also written to allow for a private domestic adoption but we don't know anyone who is in that situation...

RE Accuweather -- I sure hope they are right! I'm ready for some nice warm temps! I don't want to wear long sleeves on vacation!

Robin,
about your adoption, you just never know when. My good friends here, also with a DD from China, wanted to adopt locally for their second child. They got called just a few days before a birth-mother went into labor, and within a week had a gorgeous little boy at their house. Keep up the hope! It will happen.

We're in for 2 p.m. by the Mickey pool too! Looking forward to meeting everyone! :)

Whatever the weather will be on this vacation, I am absolutely positive it will be far better than what we have in Chicago right now! Brrrrr...

We will be on the cruise with our DD (9), who is also adopted from China. I guess we will be pretty easy to spot too. :rotfl:

Can you guys even believe how fast this is coming?! :scared1: We leave next Friday and will be in Orlando on Saturday. I haven't done my FE yet. My sister is coming over tomorrow and we are going to work on the gifts that I have and see what else needs to be bought. I haven't even started sewing the 3 outfits that I have for my little girl. They are cut out, but just have to be sewn. I am hoping that I can get on here on Monday and say they are done.

I am a total glutton for punishment though. JoAnn's has a sale that starts tomorrow and the 1 pattern that I have wanted for her is $1.99. I think that I might go get it. Just don't tell my husband. He will FREAK.

I haven't even started packing yet. Honestly, though, I won't do that until Thursday and even Friday morning before we leave.

I just can't believe how quick this is coming!:woohoo:

Oh my. We're leaving tomorrow and I'm going through the last minute panic of figuring out what to pack, getting together FE stuff (wow, it takes up half my suitcase!), making my FE, getting ME together (duh, forgot) get transport to port/back to airport. All the lovely things I should have done ages ago! :scared1:

I am getting so very excited. A wonderful week at the Boardwalk coming up and then on to the cruise! Woohoo. :cool1:

Tell me the truth, how many people out there are also scrambling to get things done at the last minute? :rotfl:

 Hello there.

I am from Chatham :thumbsup2

So we are sort of neighbours. We will be passing thru Windsor on our way to the airport in Detroit.

That is very interesting.

I lived in the Windsor area for 7 years, a long time ago now;)

Can I be so bold as to ask your age range?

Were you here for high school? I went to CK but in the early to mid 70's.
