January 24-28, 2010 -- Wonder

 Hello everyone.

I was able to make some reservations online on Saturday.

I am not a concierge cruiser but I am a platinum cruiser:thumbsup2

I booked Palo brunch and a parasailing excursion.

I've never parasailed before but I'm getting more adventuresome in my old age and thought I'd give it a try.

DoOverDreams, did you manage to make any reservations.:confused3

Yes! I'm so excited. We've got the Palo brunch :cloud9: Parasailing on Castaway Cay :woohoo: And the Segway adventure in Nassau

We didn't want to give up any of our dinners for our first cruise (need to try them all) so went for Brunch. Maybe next cruise we'll try the dinner too.

We just tried parasailing at WDW and LOVED it so decided we must do that too. And we did a Segway tour at Ft Wilderness during the same trip and loved that, so had to do that too.

I'm sooo looking forward to this cruise. It's so far off! I'm celebrating my official "I'm an antique" birthday this trip, sigh.

Maybe some day we'll be platinum too....wow. That's a lot of cruising, Cruisin! :worship: :thumbsup2 We've got some catching up to do ;)

I'm glad that you were able to get the reservations that you wanted.

I do agree that since it is your first cruise you should eat in all of the dining rooms every night on the 4 night cruise.

There are new experiences in each of them to be enjoyed.

The cruise does seem very far off but judging by past experience it will be here and gone again before we know it:guilty:

I can't wait to go either. Everytime I get on the Wonder I think it will be our last Disney Cruise.

But we always seem to find some new excuse to go on another one:rotfl2:

Is anyone interested in exchanging small gifts in the fish extenders? My kids loved doing this last time. I think they enjoyed delivering the goodies just as much as checking the extender each day for their own gifts! I would be willing to start compiling a list of children and ages if anyone wants to participate.

Gosh, we would love to! It's only DH and myself, no little ones, but FE sound like so much fun! I can feel my creative juices flowing.

So, if a couple of big kids can get into it too we would love to :goodvibes

Of course big kids are allowed!;) Hopefully we can get a few more to join in on the fun. It will give me a good excuse to use my fish extender from last year!:goodvibes

We are going to be officially on our first cruise with everyone here:)
It is a surprise for the kids so I am about to explode with excitement not being able to tell them until Christmas!!

Welcome! I'm a newb too when it comes to Disney cruises, but I'm learning. Here's a great link to fish extenders. http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=33184281&postcount=2

It looks like lots of fun! I'm reading everything I can about the whole cruise process. Lots to learn....:goodvibes

Hi All,
YEAH!! Only 3 months!

Ok, so I am cruising with Dh, DS 16, DD 13 and DD 8.

We went on Disney 7 day last Jan. It was my 8 yr olds wish from make a wish. Poor thing caught the norovirus cause she is immuno suppressed due to liver transplant. She was sick in bed for 4 days. Broke my heart. She missed the islands and the dolphin excursion. She did get to do castaway cay which was great.

So when I saw kids sail free I thought it would be a great idea to make it up to her.

It was nice to see people on the cruise that I had chatted with before. If we can post pictures of ourselves it will be easier to identify each other. That is how is spotted out fellow disers on our last cruise.

Hello all.

For some reason I have not been getting notifications of posts on this thread so I missed all your posts above:guilty:

I would most likely be interested in the fish extenders this time.

We are planning on driving down and so will have more room to bring extra stuff along with us.

:thumbsup2

It is just myself and my husband, so two BIG kids:)

Hello Everyone!
We have booked our very first cruise. It will be myself, DH, DD (3), and DD (1). We are so excited and don't know how we will wait 4 more months!

Does anyone have any suggestions on items to bring from home?

Fish extenders would be really cool. We are 2 adults of course! :) Just my soon to be husband (as of January) and I. :)

We are in on the FEs too!!! Can you believe that it is this close??

I am getting just a little excited!:cool1::cool1:

I am dying to meet you all! :surfweb: Let me start off by introducing DH (qtzar on the disboards) and myself. We met at WDW about 7 years ago while both attending a computer conference. I had been going to this conference for years and knew a lot of the same people he knew. However, he had never gone before so we didn't know each other. He went that year, we hung around with the same people, and, well, Disney magic!

DH is from Ireland, so big step for him to move to the US and for us to get married. We married in the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, with friends and family from all over the world watching live! The wonder of technology.

We've become such Disney fanatics. Bought into DVC and suffer from extreme addonitis. Been to WDW numerous times, DL a few times and decided we really really wanted to do a cruise. So, come January we'll be going to our annual computer conference in WDW (what memories :goodvibes) then going on our first cruise! And it's my BD present too! :upsidedow

Here's a photo of DH and myself from his BD last year at California Grill.

We'll be in room 8546. Woohoo! :cool1:

Crap, I need to get my passport renewed soon! So much to do.

Ok, you all know the readers digest version of our lives. Introduce yourself!

We are also on the January 24th Wonder cruise. We are taking advantage of the kids sail free promotion.

We have 3 kids, DD(13) DS(9) DD(6) and this is our first time on the Wonder.
We have been on the Magic before, including back when the Magic did the run the Wonder now does on a land and sea vacation. We also were on the Magic when it went to the Bahamas after hurricane Wilma changed the itinerary.

So far we have booked Palo dinner and Bruch, got our room changed to the location we prefer.

We are waitlisted for early dining and keeping our fingers crossed.
Although I’d prefer to go to Disney World then cruse, we are doing it the opposite way this time. It’s just how the schedule worked out.

Glad to see that a few more friends have joined our group. I will start to make a list of fish extender families over the next few days. Once I post it please feel free to send me any corrections. I think that we should have a cut off date to join the exchange, so I was thinking Dec. 1st. That way we will have time to purchase goodies before the holiday craziness. If anyone has an opinion please let me know. We had a cut off on our last cruise and it seemed to work well. We will also need to add cabin numbers as soon as we recieve them. It's gonna be here before we know it!!!:goodvibes

OK - I got the first post updated - sorry I was behind on that! I entered information that was given in posts here, so if you want to share your stateroom number or category, just post here with what you want added. (also let me know if anything has changed or is wrong and I'll fix it)
Please post 'header' changes in red so they are easier for me to spot. :)

As for us, we decided to do WDW after the cruise. We rented points and are staying in a 1 BR villa @ Old Key West 28 Jan - 3 Feb. We have all our dining plans (ADR's) made and we're looking forward to hitting some favorite spots as well as trying some new stuff this year.

I've been to WDW 18 times now (I think!), DH has been 7 times and DS has been 4 times. We've also been to DL as a family this past summer (it was my 4th trip - their first). DH and I were on the Magic while it was still part of the inaugural voyage season.

We have invited a friend to join us on the cruise/at WDW or even both since we have plenty of room. She just moved away from us and DH offered to take her because he knew how sad we both were. (despite all his man issues ;), he's a very giving loving man!) She still hasn't let us know what will work for her but I'm pretty sure she'll be involved in part of the trip.

We booked brunch at Palo already with some friends (Hi Liz!) but we're not going to do Palo dinner. We did it last time and missed some of the dining rotation. We're sticking with our rotation this time.
DH wants to do para-sailing so I'll look into that today. I'd forgotten about that until someone else posted they were doing it! (Thanks!!!)

I know I started the thread, but we probably won't do the FE gift exchange. I'm not opposed to it, but a lot of it depends on how big the group gets. It's only a 4 night cruise after all and the last thing I want to do is spend half the cruise running all over the ship dropping stuff off.

Here's a picture of us - it's kinda old though (Christmas 2007) -- I'll try to get a more recent picture uploaded and share before the cruise.
