January 2019 Car Rental Prices

Hello,

Is anyone noticing that the car rental prices for January 2019 don't seem to be following the normal trend of starting to drop around this time?

I usually don't get too concerned as the prices always seem to drop, but this year it's not happening as soon as I expected. I'm still optimistic, but definitely making me go...hmmmm.

As of now, my rental for 2 weeks is over double what we have paid the last few years.

I find rental prices are best about a month or so out from the trip, but we go in March, so maybe it's different depending on the time of year.
