January 2016 trip

Will the crowds be down the week of January 3, 2016? Our trip is that week and never have been there then. First time back in several years.

It won't be dead but there is a mass exodus on 1/1.

Crowds pick up for marathon weekend (the next weekend after New Years) but we've always had great experiences and haven't found the marathon crowds to impact our park experience overall too much, but we always make good use of EMH.

Crowds do not compare to Easter when we used to go, or to the New Year's Eve portion of our trip so we find early January a wonderful time This year we'll get there 1/4 and are looking forward to it.

I've heard crowds this year are just larger in general so it will
be interesting to see if the different than other years.

Last January over marathon time wasn't bad crowd wise in my opinion. Waaaay less crowded then summer, Spring Break time, or holidays. We'll be back for the marathon and get in on the 5th. Very nice time, it was chilly at times last year so it's basically pack a little of everything.

I'll be there the same week! Following this thread. I've read the same things about the park when I researched the crowd calendars. They say it will be less crowded on the 3-4 but then pick up a little for the marathon weekend...

I'll be there January 2nd-5th, hoping new years crowds won't hang around too long!

I'll be there January 2-9th and I'm a little nervous. We've always gone in November but not a possibility this time. Most concerned about the weather, especially since we are driving down from Pa.
