I am planning a trip to Disneyland for approx 9 days sometime between
Jan 4 - 16th 2015. With the addition of the half marathon Jan 16 - 18, I am wondering which days would have the lowest crowds.

I think the earlier part will still have New Years crowds, while the later part will have marathon crowds. In fact, I am having difficulty finding harbor hotels with availability begining around the 14th (or at least decent rates).

I was hoping this would be a low crowd time as it has been in the past, but I'm wondering what people think.

Any advice or insite? I am stuck to this timeframe because it is my daughters college winter break. She doesnt start back to school til the 26, (she would need to be back by the 24th) but for wanting to stay 9 days, that would put us there over the marathon weekend if we went later.

Thanks so much for any advice you can give me!!

From what I've read, DLR announced that the holiday season will end on Tuesday, Jan 6. So I would guess you'd see a drop off in the crowds starting on Wednesday because there won't be anymore holiday entertainment and some rides (e.g., HMH) will probably be closed. Personally, I would probably risk the crowds on the 4th and 5th, so that I would get to see some of the holiday decor, rides, and entertainment.

I guess I am wondering how early the race crowds will arrive and how crowded do they make the park the week before the race and over the race weekend? I have looked at some historical data, and that 2nd week of January looks like it was pretty deserted in the past. Not sure how the race will affect it.
