I have been holding my breath waiting for the January 2014 package pricing since a few weeks ago the new ticket pricing came out and I was always under the impression that these two price releases happened relatively close to one another... HELP!! When can we expect to see January 2014 package pricing??

Also- anyone out there have any experience visiting in early January? Planning on January 4-12. I understand that the 4th & 5th might be a little heavier for crowds as folks are clearing out that weekend from the New Year's holiday. Any thoughts or ideas would be much appreciated. Thank You!!

We usually book our January packages late in the 1st week or early the 2nd week of August. (Usually when we book our free dining dining packages, except past January we did a Cruise instead )

Normally the prices are released in August. Last year it was earlier, I booked my trip July 11th. They released a dining promotion (not free dining, but discounted dining) that I added to our package in October.

Marathon weekend is the 8th-12th. Just FYI. You might have to plan mornings around race traffic. Unless of course you are running. See you there!

I'm waiting for April prices i look everyday were looking to go for the first time in April so thats why I want to book as early as possible.

Full rack rates for 2103 came out July 11th 2012
For 2012 they were released June 12th 2011
The few years previous they were released in August.
We generally wait until the January promos come out before we book. ( August usually) Since its January there's never any worry about missing out on the room /resort we want. No hurry for us.

During the past week my husband and I have started discussing the possibility of a January 2014 trip. We're currently looking at Jan. 15-20. I know it is MLK weekend, but I am a teacher and need to work in an extra day off. We would also be celebrating our oldest daughter's 5th birthday.

With all of that, what can you all tell me about that time of year? I know it will be a little more crowded due to the holiday, but I still think it will be better than spring break. I am also worried about the weather. Some things I have read people say it is really cold then. We went Wed-Mon over Labor Day this past year during free dining. Any advice/tips?

I've been not so patiently waiting for 2014 package pricing to come out. I spoke to a CM who gave me the run around but ultimately said June or July. I also spoke to an official disney travel agent and he said the rumor mill suggests June 14 or sometime in mid-June. Obviously since it is now June 17...he would be incorrect. I'm becoming increasingly impatient. *bites nails*

Hours were released today so that's marginal improvement! :) I'm planning to go for my birthday week (January 12!) though I'm trying to avoid MLK weekend. I'm waiting until we can book online; I'm not a fan of talking to people or giving out credit card information over the phone.

We love going the first week in January! Great weather, low crowds and the marathon doesn't bother us one bit! We will see you there!

We went this year during MLK weekend. It was more crowded than I had hoped at early EMH parks. But the days we didn't do the EMH parks it was great. Crowds definitely lower than when we visited two years ago in July. The weather was fine the whole week. It was chilly in the morning but warmed up quick. We wore shorts the whole time. My DD thought it was to cold to swim but there were people swimming. The pools are heated, I think. I'm hoping we can visit again in January. Hope this helps you.

Hi! :) Thank you for your contributions to children! We went in January one year and a cold front fell upon many unsuspecting visitors. I remember waiting for rope drop and the temps were in the 30s! We had brought jackets juuust in case, so we were prepared, but many folks were hopping from foot to foot, arms wrapped together, wearing shorts and tee shirts. The crowds were so-so, but you go when you can go. Have fun!

I am anxiously awaiting the packe rate release, too. We are going January 2-January 7th. We haven't been in 13 years since our honeymoon and are taking our daughter for her first time, and I am SUPER excited. I have chatted with a CM a couple of times and I check back in every day because they are so elusive, other than saying "later this summer". Is there any pro/con to booking room only for now? AND - if we book a package with a dining plan, and then they release a discounted dining plan, can we retro fit that discount to our already booked package?

Keep in mind this will most likely be just rack rates. It's still to early for the new promo if any to come out. If my family member who works at Disney is correct next promo should be out in 5-6 weeks. Which brings us into August. Which is around the time free dining is usually announced. That's of course if that's what the next promo will be :)

I chatted with a CM yesterday and he confirmed package rates will be out July 10th. the question I didn't think to ask was this: If we book a package, and then they release a promo in August for, say, free dining, can we adjust our package in order to take advantage of that promo? Thought perhaps some of you guys may have some experience with that.

We have had this happen every year when booking (after we booked a promo came on). Our travel agent has never had a problem changing our booking over to the new rates.

Just spoke with my AAA agent who informed me that 2014 rates will be released JULY 10th!!!! NEXT WEEK!! WOO HOO!!
